I’ve traveled extensively across the U.S. and Canada, and this is genuinely one of the best breakfast poutines I’ve ever had—perfectly loaded, incredibly flavorful, and finished with both gravy and hollandaise. Outstanding.

I brought some friends from Toronto here because one of the youngsters has a gluten allergy and I knew they have gluten free options. The little person wanted a poutine with chicken. Levi was our server and explained to the mom what might have gluten . Out came a plate of deliciousness - cooked chicken with no breading and the chef had made gluten free gravy for her. The little also had milkshakes...real old fashioned milkshakes! The adults were happy too with a club sandwich, and some homemade potato bacon soup. Levi's soups are always homemade and some of the best in town. We all left happy and satisfied.

We went 3 weeks ago, my husband gave them a great review. This prompted us to go again this past Sunday, my daughter's choice for her 13th birthday. This time we brought the grandparents with us from out of town. My daughter ordered her usual cheeseburger and upgraded to a poutine. However, when we got our meals there was no poutine, just fries. I pointed this out to the waitress when she returned and she apologized, said to keep the fries and they would make my daughter a fresh poutine. We were happy with this offer and my daughter suggested we share the plate of fries. Moments later, the waitress came back and said she had to use the plate of fries she was given. Really??? So my daughter returned the plate, burger and all and waited for them to correct their mistake. So she got her plate back, cold fries with a glob of gravy and some cold, unmelted cheese curds. Certainly not worth the upgrade. She barely touched her meal after that, so disappointed. We still were charged for the upgrade and after a $180 bill my husband didn't even get the gift certificate as per the promo. He did return to the restaurant 10 minutes later to remind them. Anyway, not a great experience. Your front end staff should feel empowered to make right on a mistake and someone completely undermined the waitresses decision, which was the right one. I don't know who I feel more sorry for, my daughter for having her birthday lunch ruined or the poor waitress who looked embarrassed having to ask for a plate of cold fries back.

My wife, kids and I were in Dunnville today and stopped in at Passmore's for lunch.
My wife and I had breakfast I had bacon and eggs and she had the eggs Benedict. Our meals were excellent. My son had a club sandwich and fries and my daughter had a burger with a poutine. The kids raved about their meals.
The coffee was great. The service was great. The decor was great. We will absolutely return next time we're in town.

This is our favourite breakfast spot to stop in at. The food is always excellent, service is friendly, and the prices are very fair for the food you get!

This diner is authentic to a circa 1940's diner. The coffee is amazing, the food was terrific (I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and a Chicken Cesar Salad) - delicious!! Staff were friendly, efficient, welcoming and observant, they were stellar!

I love the ambiance at Passmores Diner. I felt like I was traveling back in time to an era from my mom’s youth. Everything in the décor reflects the 40s and 50s—even the fridge has a retro look. I was genuinely surprised when I heard the phone ring: a black rotary phone hanging on the wall! I didn’t think it actually worked, but guess what? That’s how you get in touch with the staff at Passmores. The waitress picked it up just like you would have picked up your old landline at home.
Every detail—from the menu to the frames on the wall—adds to that nostalgic feeling. If it weren’t for the credit card terminal, you’d never guess you were in 2025.
Now, about the food. I arrived for a late lunch, and the soup of the day was already gone. They were making a new batch, but I didn’t want to wait, so I ordered a half chicken melt with fries on the side. When my order came, the sandwich was so good that I immediately asked if I could have the other half! The service was great, and I will definitely be coming again. In fact, I’m already planning my next visit. I absolutely have to make this place known to my friends!

My mom has taken my kids to Passmores a few times for milkshakes and they always rave about them to me, so I finally got to experience it for myself. It was exactly the atmosphere you want for a milkshake shop. When we walked in Colin was behind the counter and he was so friendly and incredibly accommodating. He chatted up my kids and made you feel like he was truly glad you were there. He also replenished the whipped cream on their milkshakes (which were massive!) to their delight. It was just such an enjoyable outing. Oh, and the milkshakes were delicious!

Funky retro decor of an old diner in downtown Dunville. The booth seats are probably original as are the stools. Cracked naugahide bench seats. We waited well over a half hour for our lunch - a gluten-free clubhouse and a small chicken caesar salad. Server apologized for the wait, citing Cook shift change. Next time we're in Dunville and looking for a quick late lunch, we'll try someplace else. Weirdly, and despite posted dinner specials of lasagna with garlic bread, I couldn't order garlic bread to go with my caesar salad. It was 2pm at the time.
