Lovely shop with excellent cappuccino and great bread with a nice balanced sweet - sourdough-y taste. We would love to see a bit more comfortable seating options but the friendly service and delicious treats are definitely worth a visit!

From the moment you walk into Fifth Chute it is abundantly clear that this is a very special place. Absolutely all of the goods (sourdough bread, scones, cookies, squares, muffins, pies, pizzas, sandwiches, flavour syrups, almond milk, etc.) are made from scratch in house. The available retail items are carefully hand picked ensuring good quality, local products. The space itself is magical; located in an old, well restored building with many cool, original features set on the bank of the Bonnechere River (the views are incredible). And to top off this already ideal place, there is a strong focus on permaculture, the arts, and community, not to mention genuinely kind, helpful staff. If you haven’t been yet, what are you waiting for!!?!* Full disclosure, I work here. :) I felt this way as a customer, but my love for Fifth Chute has only grown after seeing all the behind the scenes. This place is the real deal.

Nice to see such a fun little coffee shop in such a cute little town. The coffee was on par with some of the best I've had in the city and don't get me started on their baked goods. Delicious.

Modern trendy vibes in a little sleepy hamlet of Ontario. Friendly barista with solid espresso “pull” skills. Lovely warm fresh baked oatmeal cookie. Worth a stop if driving around nearby.

Stopped into this little hidden gem on our way back from a nearby business venture. We were greeted by Peter (If I recall the name correctly) who explained the foods available and gave us a brief explanation of the locale. My colleague and I both were amazed by the atmosphere and the small town charm of this place. Drinks were great and the service was top notch! Thanks again!

I stopped in for a coffee and treat and BEST coffee I have had and the chocolate chip cookies are so yummy.

Stopped in on a whim while driving through. The red fife bread was exceptional, and the salted chocolate chip cookie life-changing. This will definitely become a must-stop on future drives.

I have very high standards for bakeries. I honestly think this might be the best bakery in Ontario. Note that they do not do viennoiserie, but the pies, cookies, squares and sourdough bread are all just heavenly. AND they make an excellent breakfast sandwich on a biscuit, AND their sandwiches on sourdough are very tasty, AND the specialty coffee is also amazing, AND the staff are incredibly friendly. I wish I lived close enough to visit more regularly, but for now this spot remains a very special treat.

Passed by Eganville and found this little gem. Grabbed a cup of pecan flavoured latte and a sourdough. Latte was very good and the sourdough was definitely a surprise! It’s crunchy outside and so soft and tasty inside. Remember to grab one when you pass by.

Awesome little spot for a coffee stop on our way to a cabin in Golden Lake. There was plenty of seating and beautiful plants.
