Perfect traditional pub. Pour a great Guinness. My go-to spot for dinner and a quiet pint.

I live in town and every other week, for years now, we have a standing reservation to meet up here with two other families and all our kids in tow. The staff here is always so great at accommodating us and the kids. My husband and I also like to stop in for lunch once in a while or a drink in the evening. The food is great, comfort food, great fries, I've never been disappointed with anything we've ordered. My husband loves the butter chicken, nachos and wings. I love the chicken Caesar wrap, 40 creek chicken club and the beef and Guinness stew. Our son loves the chicken fingers! My mother's favourite when she comes is the cod bites. So many great options for everyone! They often have seasonal cocktails to which are always great. Looking forward to having a pint in the tiny patio if they open it again this year! It's a welcoming place that's easy, reasonably priced, and has good food.

Stopped in the other day, had a pint of Guinness ($10), the burger was good but needed more fries. As for the bar, I feel this area needs work, seemed very cluttered, waitresses coming and going pulling pints etc arranging cutlery on the bar top… I feel an expansion of the bar, even relocating it to the right side of the restaurant, have the server section on one end and a more inviting, relaxing bar on the other with a constant figure behind the bar and not multiple servers doing there thing. Perhaps I’ll try again on a quieter day.

St Pats day , called at noon asking for reservation, was told no reservations, first come first serve basis .Showed up at 5:30 , full , 2 minutes later men and wife leaving and the table is empty .Shouting and drunk waiter tells us that in fact they are leaving but shortly someone else is coming . First come , first serve ? Left disgusted.Btw , never coming back so spare your reply .Part 2 to reply to your reply. There was NOTHING POLITE about explaining your policy.Plus yout policy means NOTHING if there is table open and we cant be seated and served because someone is coming shortly with no reservation policy and that LUCKY person is ahead of us.Waitress was shouting and was DRUNK. Happy St Pats lad.

Incredible service and staff. Saw a couple come in with a chip on their shoulder, angry that they didn’t get what they wanted because the pub is not taking reservations today, St. Patrick’s Day. The sober and very professional staff explained (at a volume that allowed them to be heard over the very busy bar) that they were not going to be able to be seated, and the couple left like a children having a tantrum.Shep’s, keep it up! That kind and respectful service is why I keep coming back!

We spent the day at the spa and stopped to grab some dinner before heading home. It was a Saturday night, and they were busy, but we got lucky and only had to wait 5 minutes for a table to be cleared off. Service was great, food came relatively quickly, and they had board games to play while we waited. I had a chicken club with Forty Creek BBQ sauce and was pleasantly surprised with how good it was. Great taste, fresh ingredients, and the fries were great too. Would definitely recommend

Very cozy Irish pub filled with locals. If you want to feel the local vibe then this is a must visit pub in Elora. I would surely vote the best for their ambience, food and bar menu. And thanks for the great hospitality by Rohit who took care of our order and who was very polite and descriptive.

Food was well made with generous portions (all that pulled pork on the Mac & cheese!). Beautiful historic old pub with original (?) stone flooring and classic Irish look. Staff super friendly. Packed trivia nights!
