We didn't have a great experience. The food took almost an hour. They are biting more than they can chew

Made reservations. Received confirmation and multiple reminders. Restaurant was closed. Called. No answer and no apology. I had four out-of-town guests. Luckily, the local Indian restaurant squeezed us in.

The server was very friendly and attentive.. but the food was absolutely unacceptable. It took a long time and then our sandwich had a disgusting hairball inside it, so we had to return it. Avacado wasn't on our other sandwich, and they failed to tell us that they were out of avacado until it was already served to us. Will not be returning.
Dennis was wonderful! The vibes were great as were the cauliflower bites - definitely a must try.

Food was good! I got the hot honey burger with fries. I loved the fries because they were on the thinner side and nice and salty. The burger was alright. Wasn’t hot at all (and I’m on the sensitive side to spice) and it kind of felt like something was missing? But it was a good meal, the chicken was good and it filled me up.
It was a busy weekend day which I think should have been expected given the holidays and Christmas market in the area, but I think there was only 1 single server for the whole place? Maybe I’m wrong about that, but it took a staggering amount of time for them to take our orders, and then for our food to come out (considering how simple the meals were).
Just would have thought they’d have more staff for such a busy day. Good pricing though!

The worst dinning experience in this restaurant 1st we was served to sit there over 10 minutes with out any attention and menu we have go to the bar side to get the m Can the menus. After 20 minutes finall some one come to take our order. After that. We order a Cocktail. And steak noodle and veggies. Only the cocktail come. We been waiting for over 50 mi for the food. And the waiter come to us there is no steak …. And we are so mad and angry because you never tell us you don’t have the steak only . After 50 minutes of waiting. WHY. The place. Is not fully seated. And no one pay any attention to our food. Which is something we don’t understand And only after 50 minutes of waiting. Not food coming and we ask. Why take so long. And they told us. No steak. This is the worst worst worst experience that we never have 🤨🥲

I made a new friend yesterday: Josie. Late plans to dine in Elora meant that every restaurant was fully booked on a Saturday night; except the Badley. Reviews are horrible. After booking online I called the restaurant and spoke with Josie, asking in particular about the reviews. She assured me that they had new wait staff, new kitchen staff, and that our reservation for seven people would be perfect. In fact she said she would be our server and would look after us.
I knew we were in trouble when upon arrival she said she had to go speak with the manager. Turns out a large earlier group had eaten almost all the food! After the manager, the chef and the server had a powwow Josie informed us that they could serve us from a limited menu. We never did see a “nice” dining area, relegated to a small area near the kitchen and washrooms.
Our limited menu consisted of three items, none of which the server could explain without reading from the regular menu; clearly she was new to serving. But we eventually got our orders for food and soft drinks sorted.
Some earlier reviews have denigrated the food; not so in our case. The chef did a great job with his limited supplies and our meals were hot and tasty. Some of the silverware appeared to have bypassed the dishwasher, always a downer. Josie worked hard to keep us satisfied and provided some comic relief to what might have been a fiasco. My wife was the only one to order a dessert; given the issues we had I expected it to be compted but not so. Upon paying the tab I saw that a 15% tip had been included; I hate it when I am not given the choice. But Josie was worth all of that and more.
We were with friends and we chalked up our experience at the Badley as one of life’s gems. But do try elsewhere if you can.

I don’t usually write reviews but I feel compelled to, after the experience my family and I had. We had decided to eat at the Badley after all near by pubs and restaurants were fully booked and not accepting walk ins. Despite the numerous bad reviews we decided to take a chance and tried our luck. However, after what we experienced I would caution anyone thinking of coming here as a last resort to instead go to the Mc Donald’s down the street.
Firstly, they “ran out” of multiple items that are, in my opinion, essential for a diner including: ketchup, and fries. Our soft drinks came out flat and the alcoholic beverages tasted watered down. I now believe my cocktail didn’t have any alcohol in it but was charged $15 per cocktail.
Secondly, the service was questionable to say the least. The most notable instance of this was when the waitress told her trainee right in front of us to lie and say they ran out of something instead of checking after I had ordered an apple juice. This was also something relayed to us multiple times for many other items we ordered.
Lastly, our orders took a very long time to come and when they finally did only half our orders came out. The waitress had said they were waiting on the fries for the rest of the orders but this also took very long. When they finally did arrive they were served with potatoes instead of fries. And when my aunt pointed this out the waitress said they ran out of fries. No cutlery was provided and my aunt had to get up to get our own cutlery before anyone came to check on us.
To add insult to injury the prices did not match the quality or portion sizes of the food. My bill came up to close to $100 for 2 drinks, a salad (w/ no protein), a grilled cheese (that did not come with the tomato soup advertised), and less than a pound of chicken wings.
There were more things that occurred however, this review is already long enough. We truly felt like we were being pranked and did not understand how an establishment that claims to be a restaurant could be so unprepared.
I deeply regret not saying anything in the moment but strongly caution others to not make the same mistake we did unless they would like to be more than disappointed.

Jessi Jessi Jessi! The server who was not just kind enough to accommodate us while we were being turned away by her rude colleague! She actually took special care of my special request for a Vegetarian meal !
The food is good but the vibe was ruined especially during the holiday season! What a bummer!

I would’ve given this place a 5 star rating but I am forced to give a single star.
This is the first time that I’ve faced true RACISM in Canada. The moment we entered , we were greeted by this rude red head white woman with a nose ring who said that the restaurant was full , they are closing and their wait list was for an hour and a half.
We could clearly see that the restaurant was empty and the only people seated were white. Jessi heard this discrimination and said she would willingly seat us and serve us. And the red head clearly seemed annoyed that Jessi didn’t comply with her fake excuse.
Then, when Jessi was taking our order, the red head came back to watch and micro manage the order we were placing. She broke into an awkward argument in front of guests with Jessi telling her how what we needed wasn’t in the menu , while Jessi was super accommodative.
After that, after saying the place is full, the same red head welcomed three white groups, seated them, served them - no issue. So why were we told the restaurant is shut and there’s no place?
The food here is great and Jessi is beyond amazing.
But such a misfortune that the red head white woman just ruins the whole experience.
I give Jessi 5 stars for her service, for being inclusive, kind and treating us with respect and not discriminating based on our skin colour or sexual orientation.
The food was great as well but knowing this place is either run or managed by a racist white woman, I can’t give the place a higher rating.
Extremely saddened and affected by this behaviour that’s left me shocked.

After waiting 25 minutes just for our waitress to take our drink order, things only went downhill. She was rude, unfriendly, and acted like she didn’t want to be there, which, by the end, we felt the same way. There were only two tables in the whole place, so the long wait made no sense.
When our drinks finally came 20 minutes later, they were watered down and filled with ice. Then we waited two full hours for our meals. When it was time to pay, our waitress refused to split the bills even after we asked, saying we could “figure it out ourselves.”
We complained multiple times, but no one apologized, and we weren’t offered any kind of solution or discount. Overall, a really disappointing experience. We will not be returning.

I dont know if they were having an off day but based on the other recent reviews it seems like the bad customer experience is common. I came in with my partner at 2:00pm and a young girl from the bar didn’t really even greet us just yelled and asked if we had a reso, we didnt (mind you, the place was almost empty) she said they are taking reso only.. we walked around for 10 minutes and decided to make a reso online for 3:00, when we came back there were 2 families infront of us who got sat with no reservation??? We got sat eventually but waited 15 minutes for someone to come by, i asked for a drink menu, was told they didnt have, then i was given one 10 minutes later (so weird..), we ordered the deep fried pickles as a starter (I specifically said “we would like the pickle to START) but i thought that was a given as they are an appetizer.. all our food arrived at the same time and it was cold. My partner had one pickle and moved on because they were mushy, THEN another server came by and asked if we liked the pickles because “they werent made right so if we get sick we dont want you coming back here to sue us” (I wish i was making this up).. I appreciate the honesty but what the hell? She told us they would be taken off our bill. Once we got the bill my partner was about to pay when I noticed the pickles were charged so i was obviously fed up at this point. Cherry on top…. i never got the napkins i asked for, never got the water i asked for twice, they didnt have ketchup, and no beer on tap was available. Please go literally anywhere else!

We ate here about a year ago and it was lovely, but we just went to the badley with a reservation on a Friday night and got totally ignored. We walked in and they asked if we had a reservation and sat us very quickly and proceeded to ignore us for 15 minutes, didn’t bring us a water, nobody came over to talk to us. All 3 staff members just stood next to each other near the bar chatting, they were even chatting about another server who gives such great service! And it wasn’t overly busy, there were only 2 other tables. We decided to leave after 15 minutes and the only thing they said to us on the way out was “have a great night guys.”
It was by far the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had and we won’t be returning.
