Returned after 6 month and we were disappointed to say the least. Chose the wild tart breakfast and it came cold after almost an hour waiting. Meal was remade and the potatoes came cold again and it took 15 minutes to make eggs, bacon and potatoes. As you can guess this will be my last time. In addition the restaurant was filthy. Walls had brown spots on them in multiple places perhaps coffee? Not sure but a wet cloth would help. The chandelier was covered in cobwebs and the floor was gross. The server seemed overwhelmed but did her best to apologize and do her best. I assume the restaurant is in trouble. Too bad I was there in June and it was pleasant but service was also slow. Eggs are a quick cook item.

Went for lunch and we were served our beverages, waited an hour for food and decided to leave without getting our food. No explanation given that it was taking along time. Will not return.
I don’t like giving bad reviews to local places, but today was truly terrible 😳😞 We have been coming to The Wild Tart for afternoon tea as a traditional annual visit to Elora with our friends since it opened, and we always loved and cherished the experience. Our last visit was in October of last year. When you pay more than $60 per person (with tax and tip) for an afternoon tea, there is a certain expectation of quality but, unfortunately, this year we were shocked by how much the quality of the food and the overall experience has declined.
The printed menu appears to be the same, but once the food arrived, everything instantly felt off. Starting with the scones, we should have received one savoury and one sweet each. Instead, we received only savoury ones, and all of them were burnt. When we asked our server about it, she first tried to say there were sweet and cheese ones. We clearly explained they were all savoury, she then said they made savoury and “plain” ones, even though none of them tasted like plain scones at all (we are avid afternoon tea goers), and they were impossible to eat with the provided jam. They were dry, burnt, oddly shaped (please see picture), and some were even weirdly cut in half. The only explanation given was that “the chef was new”. After that, no further clarification was offered, and we barely saw any employees again until the end.
The sandwich tier was also a disappointment. Most of the flavours were stale and barely seasoned. The only one that tasted good was the smoked salmon.
Now the sweets… we have never left so many uneaten. They tasted like store-bought items, but not even the good kind. And worse, the items listed on the menu were not the same as the ones served to us. There was zero effort, zero responsibility, and it is especially concerning considering how important it is to know what is being served for health reasons.
Sadly, it felt like the end of an era. We will not be returning, and I strongly recommend checking the other recent reviews. They tell the same story ☹️

An unfortunate disappointment - we have been coming to Wild Tart for years for their afternoon tea and today have had by far the worst experience. Similar to other reviewers as of recent - the food was absolutely terrible - over baked scones (large scone cut in half to count as two). Desserts from the menu were NOT what was in the menu - there was no communication of things running out. When asked about the scones we were met with a weak excuse of what was a savoury and sweet scone when clearly all scones had cheese on them.
It really is too bad we won't be coming back anymore, this was always a highlight and reason to make the special out to Elora. Anyhow, at least Elora itself is very charmy - save the money and use it to all the other great boutique stores.

Ordered the breakfast skillet. It looked good tho overpriced for the portion.
Looks are deceptive. The middle was soggy and it was spicy. The description didn't contain any clues to this. I left half of it as did my friend who ordered the same item. Those who had French toast said it was good.
We should have left as we sat down and removed a long dark strand of hair from the table.
No wonder the place was empty. Looks like recent reviews are pretty poor for this place in a town with multiple other options.

Amazing breakfast! Everything was full of flavour, the coffee was fresh, and the French toast was incredible. Great way to start the morning.

What a sad high tea experience. For 48 dollars we were given 4 sad finger sandwiches on stale bread not even cut or presented nicely. The desserts were fine although the donut was dry and old for sure. There were no scones although at least we got a discount for that.
The tea was good and the quiche was tasty but it took us an hour and a half to get our sad high tea and other food.
Overall incredibly disappointed I have had much better high teas for less money.

if you chose to eat here, DO NOT get the afternoon tea. It was terrible and so so overpriced for what it was. Nothing was as described on the menu - none of the desserts were what they said they were. It should have said one still frozen Presidents Choice mini cream puff, 2 two bite brownies stacked with lemon gel holding them together and a crazy soggy deep fried something. The “selection” of sandwiches did not contain any peameal bacon or salmon and the bread was soggy and they were very small. They didn’t amount to a full sandwich. The presentation was meh. The crème fraiche was definitely not fresh had a skin on it presumably because it was day old.
The chicken club sandwich, however, was amazing.
The people beside us also had afternoon tea and they too were terribly disappointed.
We could hear the servers complaining about mgmt and the sloppy kitchen staff wandered through the dining area more than once.
No chance we are coming back

Disappointed by my experience at the Wild Tart today. Ordered the afternoon tea package and it was very sparse, especially for the price. The scones also came with no jam/butter/clotted cream etc. and so I boxed them up to take home. We also asked for milk with our tea -which we had to ask for multiple times before someone brought it over. My friend also asked for her meal without bacon and yet it still came with the bacon on it. Overall just a lot of small things that make the experience a bit frustrating. I came a year ago though and had a much better experience so I’m hoping it was just a one off experience today.

Unimpressed. Very limited choices of sweet items for an afternoon snack. They do offer a full afternoon tea that seems to include a wider choice, but if you just want a little something and a cup of tea, i'd try elsewhere. We had scones and they came with a tiny serving of jam and cream.... Not enough.

If I could give this visit a -1 I would.. I felt so bad having asked my hubby to take me here for my birthday. He might as well have thrown his hard earned money in the trash.
We both got the $70 afternoon tea which was supposed to come with soup which never showed up. I was ok with this as it probably was soup from a can. All the food was premade and brought in! Beef was cold, cake was still frozen in the center. They even had 2 bite brownies and a chocolate mouse in a frozen tart shell.
Service was bad. If she would’ve asked how things were I could’ve told her tea was good but was highly dissatisfied and that we didn’t get our soup.
They should be absolutely embarrassed. This was supposed to be a treat and it was anything but. I wish I had seen the recent reviews before going. Won’t be returning.

Absolutely the worst high tea experience we have ever had., The only good part was the salmon soup. We ordered the signature package. For $70 it’s absolute joke and waste of money. If you want store bought desserts and diabetes this is the place to go.
No sandwich’s, the poor waitress is new and under a lot of stress. I am in the customer service industry so I can understand the service struggling and can understand, what they are feeling.
After reading reviews I feel this is the norm in this place. This business needs new management and a full remodel of the menu and pricing.
This restaurant has to make drastic changes in there business model to keep the doors open.
After eating here I was sick, the desserts are a disaster
We were seated right away, but after nearly thirty minutes of waiting, someone finally came to greet us and explained that two staff members had called in sick. As all three of us work in management and regularly deal with clients, we completely understood the situation and remained patient. We didn’t want the slower service to affect our experience.
When the soup eventually arrived, no one mentioned what it would be, but it turned out to be a salmon vegetable, which everyone at the table enjoyed. Unfortunately, that was the highlight of the visit. After another twenty minutes or so, our food arrived. The portions were quite small, and the quality was disappointing. We ordered the “signature” option, expecting finger sandwiches, but were surprised to find none. The desserts weren’t fresh, and the scones were stale.
Overall, this was the most disappointing afternoon tea experience we’ve had — and ironically, also the most expensive at $70 per person.
I truly hope the restaurant takes this feedback as an opportunity to improve, but based on our visit, I wouldn’t recommend it.

Very disappointed with the food and service. The soup came cold, forgot to put the toppings in the salad, roast beef open face sandwich was so dry and took awhile to serve the second order. Very expensive for the quality and amount of food. I don't recommend this place. You will find other better place in Elora.

We were visiting Elora for the weekend and walked by this restaurant and thought it looked really cute and liked what we saw on the menu. I wash we kept walking. The food was very bland and basic. We waited over 45 minutes after ordering for it to come and waited more than 20 minutes for them to even bring our coffee which was bitter and awful.
The hostess was kind and trying to give people a good experience, but the main waitress was gruff and seemed annoyed to be there. There was no quality check on the food and we had to add a bunch of salt and pepper to give it some flavour.
