Happy Grillmore's Chip Stand - Espanola

Stopped in for lunch! Wow! Portion sizes very generous! We had the Fish Burger and it was fantastic! The flavour was out of this world. I’m craving another one but unfortunately we are headed home on this holiday weekend.

We shared a fish & chips platter + a “small” poutine (it’s more like a medium!) These were the BEST FRIES I’ve had in such a long time! Crispy brown on the outside, soft on the inside. With real cheese curds, merci beaucoup… and thick, hot gravy. Perfect. 5 stars.

Amazing and very generous fish and chips!

50 years ago when I was a little boy, I used to go to little current to fish with my grandparents. The walleye and pickerel that we fried tasted just like this. Awesome stand alongside the road. Incredibly reasonable prices and outstanding food. Fresh and abundant! My wife and I couldn’t finish a dinner by ourselves. The fish wasn’t greasy at all and tasted amazing. Thanks for your kind service today!

My wife and I stopped in here today on our motorcycles for lunch. I had the “Happy bacon double cheese burger” with fries and she had the buffalo chicken wrap with poutine. All I can say is WOW! Best burger I’ve had in a LONG time. Her wrap was excellent and the gravy is out of this world! We will be coming back….soon!! Awesome place.

When I arrived at the Happy Gilmore's, the staff member tending to the chip wagon's window practically shooed me away.Unbeknownst to me, she had an order ready for another client who was walking towards the stand and still a good distance from the chip wagon. She would have had time to take my order before he got to her.She could have said it more politely and with a smile instead of acting like I did something terribly wrong. I almost left.We ordered the pickerel dish and it was subpar. It was cooked in too much batter and it had very little fish under the batter. I found the coleslaw was not tasty at all. I did not get value for our money. The only thing that we thought was tasty were the fries. Although they continue to say they use a thin English batter, it is their own perception, all I received was a thick batter dripping in grease.This establishment doesn't accept credit cards and charges an extra $.50 to use their bank machine. It is not an establishment that I would frequent again.

Ordered the 3 piece pickerel dinner. The batter on the the fish was so thick that I had a hard time finding the fish inside. When I did find the fish, I was very disappointed with the amount within. For $22 I would have been better off spending it elsewhere.

Absolutely the best chip stand my burger was incredible and the small poutine Fed me and my husband and we had leftovers prices were great very friendly service definitely will be back

We stopped in yesterday for the first time, new to the area. We had the best fries, cheese balls and boneless wings.?

We had the 911 Heart Stopper and it was totally awesome, ridiculous and delicious. We had broccoli cheese bacon bites and they were good with a marinara dipping sauce, but I'm not sure I'd get them again. I got the whitefish and chips. Whitefish was great with some fresh lemon. I'd go back for that. They also gave me tartar sauce, but it would be a shame to drown it in that. The fries were pretty soggy instead of crispy and pretty dark. Well salted and I like that the skins were still on, but they weren’t my favourite fries. The gravy was ok, but I think I'd prefer vinegar on my fries. The coleslaw was ok.
