Our waitress was amazing Shay’s cafe is awesome , very home like feeling . It is tiny and brilliant , fast service does around 30- 35 people and I will tell you one waitress was rocking it , she was the real deal and friendly and interactive and kind hearted super efficient. our cook got food within less than 25 minutes with full tables being served almost at once . , from excellent coffee to always making sure it was filled , to end of meal excellent . Great size portions . Awesome breakfast. Give her a10/10 waitress and cook and service , they work this restaurant , true real deal , . Excellent hard working women. They Never stopped , and clean as a whistle in there . Will be for sure coming back !! When we travel this way. True breakfast restaurant excellent music . Felt like hometown northern Ontario and as well as seeing happy staff Love it . The most friendliest staff around . We will be coming back. Thank you ladies . Most enjoyable . Bathrooms wheel chair / accessible and right next to them in mall. Easy to come in and out . Thank you

Food was ok and service not bad and I did try the butter tarts and they were good but the filling to pastry ratio could be better and they are only open till 2pm which most of us can’t make in to. And in the mall they have a small seating area.

Could not beat the food, atmosphere and last of all the service. They know my boys all to well when we walk in. Do not have to even tell them our orders when it comes to our boys. Could not ask for a better place to take the family for any meal. So welcoming. Thank you for having this place in our community.

We both had the BLTs with home fries, pasta salad, and a side gravy. The salad had A LOT of carrots in it. It was not bad, but I wouldn't want it again. The BLT was good, it had a nice portion of bacon on it. The home fries were fine. The gravy tasted funky to both of us. We advised the server; she apologized and didn't charge us for it. We saw her inform the cook of the gravy, the cook didn't seem to care as she shrugged her shoulders. $35 including a tip. If it hadn't been for the gravy and the pasta salad, this would have been a 4/5 restaurant for us.

From the outside it looks like a store selling quirky signs , but was inside the service was really good and the serving staff engaged with the customers , the food was super good , and the signs made for amusing reading, The costs were very good for what was served and our party of 4 left feeling satisfied and happy ready to continue our journey .

This place is amazing, at first when I looked from the outside of the mall, I wasn’t so interested, but when I came inside, sat down at my table, the service was great, and I had breakfast keep in mind. The Homefries, bacon, and eggs were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place if you want some good food. A small restaurant like this doesn’t have many tables, but a lot of Customers. Definitely will come again.

Let me start with the fact I don't normally give poor ratings, especially for small local businesses unless it was truly terrible. In this case, we didn't even get in the restaurant. We have called Shay's Cafe multiple times to either reserve a table or order food. Not once has the phone ever been picked up. This day when we showed up there were two massive tables for 6 to 8 people with reserved signs on them and empty. We waited in the mall until one family left but unfortunately it was only a table for three. We were four plus my 3-year-old. After the owner denied us entry because the table wasn't big enough, a customer nearby at a table for four offered to switch so we had room to eat. The owner then said no because with our 3 year old, we were 5 people. So we then asked how long of a wait, to which the owner simply said, "I can't do it. We can't accommodate. We're only going to get busier" . My parents, wife and I were in shock that we were just turned away from a half full restaurant. I wish I could rate the food, but obviously we never made it that far. Very disappointing to be turned away from one of the last breakfast joints in Espanola.
