I had an awesome experience at the A&W in Essex, Ontario. The food was fresh, hot, and tasted exactly like how A&W should—especially the fries and the Teen Burger. The restaurant was clean and well-kept, and the service was surprisingly fast even during the busy time. The staff were friendly, polite, and actually seemed happy to be there, which makes a huge difference. Overall, great value, great food, and great vibes. Definitely one of the better A&W locations I’ve been to!

This place went down hill since they started DEI. Haven’t been back in three years because the food quality was bad. 3 years later, nothings changed. It’s always empty wonder why. Cold fries and congealed chipotle sauce on your burger is what to expect from going here.

The food is good. It was hot and they got my order correct. I’d advise to use the Drive Thru as the tables and chairs inside are sticky. When I asked for a cloth (since they had no crumbs they obviously had been wiped down already but when I worked in the industry I know that means the solution needs to be changed and a new cloth is needed) They advised “that’s just the texture of the tables” and offered to wipe the table down if we moved to a different table. Sadly that wouldn’t help as they were all sticky. All I wanted was a clean cloth, not gaslighting lol smh anyways, it’s not bad. But the table and chairs have the texture of a bar dance floor LOL

Stopped in this afternoon for the Mama Cheese Combo meal. The meal was cooked fresh and the burger and fries were nice and hot. The A&W root Beer tasted so good in the frosted glass. Anjeet M was very friendly and efficient as he took our order.
