Chuck's Roadhouse Bar & Grill

I just visited your establishment with my 89 year old father. He happened to have to visit the restroom while he was there. He went in the restroom and there was no light switch for him to turn on so needless to say it was pitch black. A woman came from the women's washroom and he came back out and told him to use the women's because the light was on. Him being a proud 89 year old man who has all his faculties refused to use the women's washroom. Then he was told that the light switch was out the door and around the corner in the bar area. So if he, being as old as he is, was in there and someone decided to turn the light off what in god's name do you think would happen? I shall mention too that he walks using a cane. He went back into the washroom and wondered why people weren't flushing the toilet only to discover that when he tried the handle just spun around and didn't flush and when he went to dry his hand there was nothing to dry them with. I'm sure this is something that the board of health would not take lightly! He came back to the table and told me what happened, which I believe because I saw them switch the light on for him. We frequently (2 days a week) go into town for dinner so we decided on your establishment as we have been before and we're happy with it but now we have decided we will NOT be going back. I hope you rectify this problem for your other customers because it is very unsanitary for a restaurant!!! He did however say that the food was excellent and wanted me to convey that to you so it's really sad for you we won't be back because he eats out quite often.

Food is okay. To me, they try a little too hard and add to many flavors.
Great that they make everything in-house with local ingredients.

I have frequented Essex location often. Since they opened in fact. Some small issues but was generally decent. Feb 14th was and will be last time. Steak way over cooked. Well done with a med/rare stick in it. Manager comes out and tells me it was cooked med/rare ( Im wrong in other words) but will cook me another. Ive cooked and ate enough steaks that i know what med/rare looks and feels like. Not a hockey puck btw.
Grand daughter had fish that smelled and tasted extremely fishy.
Wife had a vegan burger. She said had way better at fast food chain.
So after a half hour, wife ate, grand daughter ate her fries and 3 small pieces of fish, my steak is still a no show. Waitress who was great, apologized and said she didnt know what was happening.
I had her take the steak off the bill and I paid and left for the last time. I have never complained about a restaurant but was extremely disappointed this time around and have noticed a steady decline in the food....Sorry Chuck we wont be back

Went here tonight and had dinner, food was less than passable, my food was dry and my partner's food was also dry and bland, when our meals initially came out we we're missing things that we had asked for, our waitress was not very welcoming, however another waitress had come over and assisted us when we needed

Grossly disgusting service

I cannot to begin to express how disappointed and disgusted am I at the terrible service I received tonight at Chucks - Essex location. I have never in my life complained about people working in customer service as i completely understand that working with the public is already tough enough. However my experience today marks a first. The apparent bartender/waitress that served me should not be anywhere near people. She was mean, condescending and even threatening. I promise I was not holding a gun to her head to work there! She made me feel so small that I had to get up and leave and have my friend pay for my drink. I cannot believe this is acceptable as even subpar customer service. I had second hand embarrassed on her behalf as the terrible behaviour seemed to come naturally. I will never be back.

Second time I’ve been served by Natalie - she’s the best ! Great experience all around, made a great meal suggestion and she makes amazing Caesars !

Customer service is top notch. I ordered a steak dinner, medium rare. I received a steak, well done. I wasn’t going to send it back, but the Server noticed it. Owner immediately came over, replaced my whole meal, and took it off my bill.

Me and two friends went there for New Year’s Eve. I had a steak dinner. They had some type of stir fried chicken and steak with wraps coffee coffee was cold. We ordered fries and they look and they taste like they’ve been sitting there too long. I had cold potatoes my steak was OK. The service was fantastic. We did talk to the manager, but to be honest that’s the second time I’ve been there and I got say the Chuck roadhouse in Windsor is excellent. I was disappointed the second time I wanna go back, but I don’t think it’ll be any different because I was talking to somebody that was in the restaurant not the staff and said the chef is not very good but I do have to say the manager did what he could for us so thank you and thank you to the waitress. I do not remember her name as she reads this comment she’ll know.

Ordered my food, which was good. But I never got my drink i asked for or checked on by the waitress if i needed anything or how the food was. Ate my whole meal then was asked if I still wanted a pop with an empty plate infront of me. Another 5+ mins to finally get to pay so I could leave.

went to chucks roadhouse in essex i normally have great meals there lat night me n my husband ordered a porter house we just split it it was so tough n burnt we told waitrss and some guy came out and said i can cook another steak but theres always tough in steak we could not even chew it and he graciously said would u like a side salad Really they didnt even offer to make new one he said to me what will u eat i said some fries that came with steak they offered no discount nothing then the waitress said can i take your steak your not eating it i said no im bringing it home for my dog so she came back with a platic bowl and said here a bowl for your dog we didnt blame waitress its not her cooking $60 for fries not going back we felt they were just conserned about the money no respect

I ordered the 7oz top sirloin and it was amazing. Cooked to perfection, seasoned well, juicy and delicious. I paired it with a ceaser salad and was very happy with my decision, it was great. The price was amazing as well! The service was on point, server was very attentive even though it was on the busier side. Will definitely be back.
