Best home cooked food besides mine. We love going for breakfast and lunch. Amazing prices and the service is outstanding. The owner is always there and makes everyone feel like family. If you haven't tried this place, you need to go!

HIGHLY recommend
My husband & I took a trip to Essex from 5 hours away & we stopped in to get lunch, we couldn't have been happier with Honetown Cookhouse. Amazing food such a friendly & nice waitress. Abby was so wonderful!!

Dropped in for breakfast. Firstly the menu is approx 3-4 dollars over other local eateries for 2 eggs, hashbrowns, toast and 1 meat. Everything had an upcharge, we were asked if we wanted onions with our hashbrowns, and to our surprise that's an upcharge. They were very bland. Eggs had no taste and not farm fresh. Sausage, toast both low quality. Honey packet was "honey flavour". There was no decore, service was avg to below avg. Overall, disappointed and won't return. Wish it was hidden gem, bit sadly have to say go anywhere else ?

First time eating out here. The decor is retro. We ordered lunch..the food was great. My Greek salad was fresh and delicious. My husband enjoyed his Corned Beef on Rye. Real home style Diner food. We will definitely be back.

Mom and Pop type of Restaurant, I have had breakfast here quite a few times and it is always good, fast and hot. Love the diner atmosphere. I hope to try out thier lunch menu at some point.

We were in town visiting for a few days and mom wanted to try this place. I was skeptical because we’ve had bad experiences with new places. But all I can say is “WOW”! That was the best burger I’ve had in recent memory. The menu is quite extensive and very well priced. I can’t wait to come back again (and again)!

Excellent hometown, friendly diner. The owner served us herself and made us feel welcome. Food was excellent and very reasonable priced. Large portions, comfortable place without being pretentious. Highly recommend. Don’t miss this gem in downtown Essex.

Parking: Just around the corner is a parkingLot or street parking in the front.

Kid-friendliness: Kids welcome but atmosphere didn’t feel kids were loud and dominating. Strategic seating made a great experience for both diners with kids and those without.

Wheelchair accessibility: Very accommodating
