Decided to do the Easter Egg hunt as it sounded like a great experience, but unfortunately we spent $22.50 each to be able to search their garden area for one single egg. The ticket price did not include anything else. Each egg was a winner. We each won one ounce of wine, that they will add to a purchased glass! I wish I would have seen earlier that Spruce Wood had a similar event which included wine and an appetizer for $2.50 more. Definitely disappointed.
I truly enjoy this winery—it’s a fantastic spot with great ambiance, wonderful staff, and a welcoming atmosphere. I’ve attended a few events here, including prix fixe dinners and two delightful symphony nights, and I always leave impressed by the experience as a whole. I've also been here for diner and lunch with family and friends, The wine is always great, and the staff and owners are super welcoming.
That said, while the food is beautifully presented and tastes great, the portion sizes leave something to be desired. Unfortunately, I often find myself needing to grab more food elsewhere after dining here or have to eat something before arriving. Considering the price point, I feel the value of the meals doesn’t quite match the portions.
Overall, it’s still one of my favourite wineries for its wine. The vibe and the wine are worth it, but I really hope they tweak the portion sizes so the food matches the rest of the experience!
Looks amazing, but delivers "meh". I hate to say it too, because the restaurant is BEAUTIFUL, and the service is nice, however, given the upscale image and pricing, we were disappointed that our expectations weren't met. We asked for one of the starters to be brought out with our main meals, since we were seated at a tiny table and already had several starters ordered. She forgot and brought it out all at once. Easy mistake, except she made it seem like we never asked for that. Oysters were good, but pretty small. Brie starter would've been nice if it was baked or warmed. The fries on the menu say black truffle and parmesean. So when I ordered the fries, I asked why there wasn't any parmesean or black truffle. The server said because I asked for "fries". The parmesean and black truffle fries were the only fry options on the menu. But technically, she was right, so we were left disappointed. Fries were fresh cut, but just fries. When our meals came out, we were SO underwhelmed. The server asked if we wanted salt and pepper before we had taken a bite, so I passed on it... hindsight is 20/20. The halibut, which was the 2nd most expensive item on the menu, had NO flavor. Bland bland bland. The fish was cooked well, but a little salt would've worked wonders. The ravioli was probably the only dish the entire night that had flavor. Before you say, "well, she did offer you salt" I understand that thought process at a diner or chain restaurant. For a fine dining experience, the entrees should be more innovative and already expertly crafted without my interference. I will say that the server was incredibly sweet, along with the water service and the hostess. This review is solely on the food, and it's value for the cost.
My Wife and I had an amazing experience at North 42, our servers name was Sean and he was so friendly. Beautiful place with great wine and cocktails!
excellent food and atmosphere. we'd come back in a heartbeat. Try the seafood linguine!
The major low point was the portion sizes! Great ambiance, great service, food tasted delicious, but didn’t leave full! 👎🏻
great staff, knowledgeable.
beautiful inside and out.
Hosted our mom's birthday party on the second floor and North 42 did a great job. Everything was very well organized. Bar tenders on the second floor were there the entire night serving drinks. The food was fantastic. Highly recommend if you are looking to host an event.
North 42 was EVERYTHING we hoped it would be. Not only did they make us feel like a million bucks, the facilities were beyond luxurious. The outdoor and third floor seating had such incredible views of the Vineyard! Service was delightful and timely. The walk around the facilities was SO beautiful. The gift shop had unique and beautiful items. Every wine we tasted was off the chart delicious! We could not make up our minds which wine we wanted for our final choice! We would schedule a tasting again in a heartbeat!!
My Wife and I stopped here for breakfast. We found the property to be well maintained, well decorated and comfortable. Although the breakfast menu was printer paper.
We found the staff to be polite, yet not particularly hospitable. Taking a very long time to bring us water, take our order and not providing the basics, salt and pepper, Ketchup, or offering a second coffee.
We found the food to be overpriced. I had the "Farmers Breakfast", my wife had the "French Toast". This must have not been a very good farmer. The bacon was decent bacon, the eggs were reminiscent of an Ikea $1 breakfast (but with less flavour), and the turkey sausage and peameal reminded me of the paper plate it would be served on, the toast was a nice bread, cold and unbuttered. The breakfast was cold, despite taking a very long time to be served, I had to ask for butter, salt and pepper and Ketchup (which I never received). My Wife's French Toast was three diagonally sliced pieces of a French Bread stick, cut about 1 3/4" thick. It was cold, over saturated with the compote and too much icing sugar.
The staff seemed to have great pains in accessing their computer system to print my bill.
After spending $55 for our lackluster breakfast. I was unable to pry open my wallet to buy any of their wines.

Delicious food with some of the best staff to make an amazing time
We walked in and had never been there before. The young lady who greeted us was very kind and made sure that she could do everything she could for us. We were seated and they even made our charcuterie board even though they were between sessions in the kitchen. I think the young lady was a hostess in front. Once again I fail to get a name which I plan on doing from now on.
Went out for dinner last night with my boyfriend. The meal was over two hundred dollars.
I had to ask for my water to be filled every time. I needed more despite waitresses and waiters walking around with jugs of water. My skirt steak was not cooked properly. I asked for it to be done medium, and they brought it to the table rare. It was sent back and was not received back for about 15 minutes. My boyfriend ate his entire meal and then I had to eat mine alone. We were not offered any discounts or anything for this error. Both of our steak meals were very sweet and did not taste very good. This is our second time here, with the same meals being ordered and not the same service or quality. I don't mind paying for good quality and good service. But we received neither this time and we will not be going back. When you're paying these prices, it should be exceptional food and service. It took over 2 hours for us to get 2 meals and an appetizer.
Made reservations for dinner during our weekend trip to Kingsville. We sat on the upper patio and loved the view. The food was great and along with the service. We are from Ohio and loved the area. We definitely will be back.
