Wonderful friendly accommodating staff. Small town old inn vibe 100%. Stayed in smaller Victor Kyle room tight but cozy and all rooms have jacuzzi tubs. Unfortunately water the 1st evening didn't get hot so that was a bummer. Second stayed in the Harriet room! Absolutely gorgeous!! Would Highly recommend. Shout out to the wonderful cooks and staff that made our new years weekend memorable. Frank and Holly the chefs. The Manager and staff that helped accommodate the upgrade! Will be back!!
We had such a fantastic stay at the Breadalbane Inn! We stayed at the Jack Black room which is perfect for a friends trip and the room was so cozy and functional - felt like we were really transported to the 1850s!! But with modern touches like fast wifi and electrical plugs throughout. Breakfast was a HIGHLIGHT, Day 1 we had pancakes and the parfait, Day 2 we had the avocado toast and the Breadalbane Breakfast. Such a nice touch to have made to order breakfast and staff was lovely as well. Would 100% stay again!!
We had a beautiful getaway at the Breadalbane Inn this past weekend. Our room was cozy, nice soaker tub, fire, king size poster bed. Our whole experience was excellent ! Thanks for a great weekend. We would do it again and recommend!
We had a fabulous time at the Scorzia Dinning restaurant in Fergus. We had a lot to celebrate with Daddy’s 65th Birthday as well as our daughter and son-in-law 46th birthday celebration. Our dinner was amazing cooked to perfection and so delicious. We all enjoyed different meals and all pleased with the flavors. Very delicious The service was exceptional. The atmosphere was fantastic. The ambiance was so relaxing and easy to communicate amongst all of us.our waiter told us that all the food was from local farmers which we appreciate very much. Thank you for a great memory.
Love this spot in Fergus. Great food drink and atmosphere always
We chose this location because breakfast was included, it is walking distance to downtown Fergus and the prices in Elora were ridiculous. Not that the price here was low, we paid $350 a night on a weekend in November. For that price, we should have had a luxury stay. And it was close, but definitely missed the mark in several ways. We were greeted with a glass of prosecco each, which we then awkwardly carried through the hotel, outside, across the parking lot to our room.
We stayed in the McCatty room, described online as a King luxury suite, which is not part of the main hotel, but is in the Carriage House at the back.
There are some nice touches in the room, like bathrobes, and the TV playing nice music when we arrived. There were two chocolates, which was nice, but not good chocolate, I think they were from the Bulk Barn? The temperature was set to 19C when we arrived, it did warm up fairly quick though. The room was large, and the bed was comfy. The balcony would be nice in the summer. Netflix was supposed to be available, but would not load, we were able to access the tv stations though. The wifi was sufficient to watch videos on my phone.
Some updating in the room is definitely needed. The whirlpool tub being in the main room is one example of this, but we were expecting this from the pictures in the website. What we were not expecting was that the tub would be dripping. (See video). It was very loud and didn’t make for peaceful sleep. When we told the front desk about it, she said “oh yes, we know, we are working on it”. It was still dripping when we left.
Some other overdue maintenance issues were evident, like the hairdryer that only worked on low, the damaged drywall in both the bathroom and behind the shaving mirror (whose batteries were dead), spiderwebs in the corners, stains on the towels. See photos.
Breakfast was fine, after I brushed the crumbs off the table and ignored the sticky spot. I had the panini one day and the pancakes the next. The pancakes were very nice, with a delicious berry compote. I did not have the syrup they brought there was a film across the top and it was table syrup, not maple syrup. My husband had the Breadalbane breakfast, recommended by the server. The bacon and toast was good. The hashbrowns looked/tasted like the commercial frozen type, the egg bites were what you find on a chain buffet. It was good enough to have both mornings.
The tea was so close! There was a selection of teas, and china teapots. But then they filled the teapot with hot (not boiling) water and brought it to the table with a cup and a teabag. The second morning we asked for it to be made in the pot, which was better.
All in all, not a terrible stay, but not what we were expecting. None of these things by themselves are a big deal, but for a place that bills itself as luxury, and charges accordingly, it all added up to a disappointing stay. We should have paid more and stayed in Elora.
We stayed for 5 nights in the George Fergusson Suite at the Breadalbane Inn. It was a perfect experience and we would definitely visit again. The room was clean and cozy, with a seating area, coffee/tea station, fireplace, and more. The complementary breakfast was amazing and there were multiple options to choose from. The staff was incredibly kind and friendly, which improved the already great experience. The location was very close to downtown Fergus, which saved us from having to sort out parking. I would highly recommend the Inn.
The building itself was very period correct. Very nice, old historic feeling.
Plumbing had issues. Seemed like possible new management? Breakfast was decent. Dinner in the “Italian Restaurant” was sub-par. The Waitress’ in the mornings were pleasant and morning meals were good.
Having the staff smoking area beside our room and the rear exit door banging each time it was used was not ideal.
The unannounced construction below our room was also not ideal for the $ paid..
Hopefully the management gets a better grip on their “System Upgrades” and maybe change the menu for the evening restaurant meals (to something they know how to prepare)..
Beautiful and and relaxing!
We have a great time and meals at this pub, we have been several times. The service is fast and friendly, the pints are ice cold and the food is great. They could use bigger potions and lower prices but all around a great place to go, compared to some other less desirable places locally.
Restaurantji Recommends
Pub attached to the inn had great food. The inn was very clean and welcoming. It is in a historical building that has been in Fergus since its beginning.
Loved it. Room clean and fun Harret room. Beautiful inn loads of charm . Service excellent. Location great. Will return in a heartbeat. Thank you all!
Great surprise when arriving, friendly staff, unique in many good ways in comparison to corporate hotels. Highly recommend 😀
