Service and atmosphere was great. Food was mediocre. Fries were warm, but fresh cut so that was nice. Battered fish was OK. Batter was a little soggy. Coleslaw was a little off. Didn't eat that.

Friday night about 6. We were seated quickly. Service was quick and friendly. Ordered the haddock and chips, sea food chowder, lobster poutine, and the burger battle burger.....everything was very good and large portions. For dessert we had the carrot cheese cake.

My husband and I made the trip out of town this past weekend to have fish and chips. We had been there a few years ago and the fish and chips were very good as was their Jiggs Dinner. Unfortunately, Jiggs Dinner is no longer on the menu. We both ordered haddock fish and chips and one side of onion rings, which were the best part of the meal, I thought they were pricey at 17.99 but we thought they must be fantastic (which was only $3 less then each order of fish and chips!) The fish its self was okay once you got through all the greasy batter. The chips were also greasy. The coleslaw actually tasted sour. (like it would taste if it’s going bad) Our server asked us at the end of meal how everything was. I took this opportunity to be honest with her, at the thickness of the fish batter, how it was crisp on the outside but doughy inside and very greasy. She advised us that the next time we’re in to ask for the fish to be dipped in the batter quickly and only once. If a cook or chef needs to be told how to make a good deep fried fish then I’d rather not go to a restaurant that I have to tell them how to cook. I would not recommend the Goofie Newfie

Finally had a chance to head to The Goofie Newfie and it did not disappoint. It’s the type of place that makes you feel like a regular the first time you sit down at the bar. Probably the best nachos in Ontario. 10/10 will be back.

Such a great place. Food came very quickly and was nicely presented. Very large portions. Very tasty. Service was excellent. Atmosphere was lovely. Made me homesick for Newfoundland. Highly recommend.
Ok so really nice atmosphere with the sound of the river falls and that’s where it ends . Table sticky and clearly not cleaned - app was lobster whatever dip the toasted pita bread was burnt - ( dip was good ) ordered there famous Cod sandwich comes with coleslaw and tartar on it with fries . Fries not fresh tons of tiny burnt ends - the sandwich bun is soft and not fresh soggy no flavour- the fish all batter little actual fish - the wait staff looked like a group of misfits and not professional . The staff act to casually when they should be more professional and care about service !

It’s not easy to find and parking is a bit far away if you are disabled. But the food and service are outstanding. As my friend said, I would drive all this way just for the dessert! (sticky toffee pudding). If you get lost, ask a local for directions. They know where it is and it’s worth the effort. My lobster mac and cheese was excellent. Service was attentive, friendly and helpful.
