What a brilliant little gem in Gore Bay on Manitoulin Island! A most decent menu led to a favourite Friday night selection and a very satisfied customer. We need to return soon and have already been warned that spring and summer reservations get booked quickly in advance. Try it out too !!

Janet greeted us at door ask for vaccine proof and directed us to table. My wife and friends had great meal of ribs with a nice bottle of Pinot Noir . Place is spotless and Janet our server knows how to give you custom service. Would recommend for a nice relaxing getaway for fine dining this winter.
Caesar salad not so great. Very bland. I had the seafood pasta and it was amazing!

Food and service was great. They were out of many items on menu though which was disappointing but what we did manage to order was delicious. If I was a real Karen I'd rate harsher due to menu limitations but I can't say anything bad about what we did end up with

This restaurant is a gem on the Island. The food was amazing. I had the J*** Chicken Pasta which was recommended by the Chef’s Better half. The rum/ginger beer in a smoked glass is the best thing to start off the night. I even was greedy and asked if they wanted to relocate near our home so I wouldn’t have to go without until next summer! A must on the Island!

We were on vacation and were looking for something other than fried food or fish and chips. We had an amazing meal with great service. We were on the balcony and had a spectacular view of the harbor. The ribs were cooked to perfection and my wife's prime rib was also fantastic. Highly recommended. I also suggest you reserve in advance as this place is very busy.

1890 was terrific! First restaurant where we could dine in after Covid restrictions lifted and would allow. Highly recommend the food, excellent value, great service ( Janet- must have been wearing invisible roller skates!) Good atmosphere, super clean- overall top notch. We had lamb shank and ribs...both done to perfection. Lentil soup ahead of that was very, very good. Wish this place great success!
