The service was amazing so welcoming and the restaurant was clean and well decorated, however the fries were rancid. The poutine was inedible, the fish was nice however could use a bit more seasoning.

We’ve visited McCauley’s a couple of times now, and there’s no denying the quality of the food—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The menu offers a nice variety of dishes, and everything we’ve tried has been excellent. The staff are warm, welcoming, and attentive when they’re at the table, which adds to the overall positive atmosphere.
That said, the service speed has consistently been a challenge. On both of our visits, we waited over an hour for our meals to arrive. While we understand that kitchens can get backed up during busy times, this level of delay really takes away from the overall dining experience.
If McCauley’s can address the long wait times, it would easily be one of our top go-to spots. Great food and great people—just hoping the service can catch up.

Great pub food,burgers and fries with gravy on the side malt vinegar too! Really griendly and attentive staff. We stopped in midway through a very log scenic drive,it was a great decision. We will be back the next time we are heading that way!

We have been traveling across Canada, and we were stopping in the area to visit a friend. We were looking for a restaurant that would allow a dog on the patio... and McCauley's came through for us! We had a great visit, with some excellent food and an amazing view of the Algoma highlands. Fantastic service -- including a water bowl for our dog. I rarely take the time to rate places, but this one absolutely deserves 5 stars. The staff here is incredibly friendly, especially the wonderful lady who served us. The atmosphere was so welcoming and relaxing, and even our 2-year-old daughter had a great time. We stopped by on our way to Toronto and felt immediately at ease. The food was amazing—I loved the homemade soup, and my husband couldn’t stop raving about the fish & chips, which were super fresh! We just left, but I couldn’t wait to give them the recognition they deserve. Highly recommend! Wishing them all the best ❤️

Amazing and attentive service by genuinely friendly folks. They took us in even though closing time was in a half hour. I love it when they take time to chat especially when I am in a new area for the first time. I learned all about the restaurant, and living in Havilland Bay.
The food was great. Possibly the best fries I have ever had. I also enjoyed the crispy chicken sandwich and incredible fish tacos, made with local whitefish caught the same day.
As part of the McCauley's Motel, the restaurant is easy to find and convenient when staying at the Motel.
Even if you are not staying at McCauley's Motel, stop by the restaurant, just off the highway. Check the hours first, as they may vary by season and day of the week.
