Just had a very uncomfortable experience.. as we went by to go to the Market a nice gentleman saw us with a pop-up with 5bikes and assuming we were with 3 kids, he said he had parked here because you are no allowed to go in the market with the trailer... and that it should be fine to follow him as he is just leaving (he also had a pop-up with 4 bikes). So we did, with all the intention of asking the owners for permission... we turned and finally parked.. went to the ice-cream area and they were busy, looked around and could not see any one else so we wrongly assumed it should be okay.. later as we are attempting to cross the street with the 3 kids a very angry men approached us and right away started angrily speaking at us telling us we did not even ask to park there.. I attempted to apologize and tell the story but the men just was very loud and worried about telling us in front of our children we did not have the courtesy to ask...
Long story short... we attempted to ask... looked for someone... assumed it should be fine, which we shouldn't have; however, it is not okay to do what you did in front of our children, not even allowing for a conversation.
We left, and parked right after and still were able to enjoy the nice market!
I hope you were happy by yelling at children and their parents and not allowing for a conversation.
Great value!! The man working (I'm assuming the owner) was very polite and patient as we looked around the shop and grounds. I had made a mistake with the ice cream hours and he was very accommodating. Prices are super fair and everything you need is here! The mini golf looked very fun and nicely decorated for fall (only $5). I will for sure visit next year.
Excellent ice cream with good portions at reasonable prices
Went there for the mini golf, and wow wow wow this is the most fun I've ever had mini golfing in my adult life.
The mini golf trails themselves use natural terrain and curiosities as it is enclosed in a wooded area (similar to a forest level in online mini golf games). The ambiance is incredibly welcome as the shade blocks the sun and reduces the humidity the further you go in, making it more relaxing. We even saw chipmunks at times which made the experience feel almost disney-ish.
That being said the game itself has so many natural hazards that inadvertently and possibly advertantly knock your ball out of bounds (also makieing it like the online mini golf experience with friends). Many a times did we find ourselves with knocked outside of the course or inadvertently getting a hole in one that made every hole challenging as well as surprising.
Finally the price and maintenance of the miniput and icecream stall. As a place that looks like it has been around for awhile, it was incredibly clean and well maintained. The price from everything from the miniput to the icecream was so inexpensive that I'm going to see about going again during my current vacation if my time allows it. The bathroom was immaculate, and the staff was friendly and attentive despite it looking like some of them were doing 3 jobs at once. Stellar service.
All in all, if you're in the area and you want to have some fun, pick up a game of mini golf and an icecream for you and your family, it's worth the drive.
Visited yesterday morning, July 22. Played mini golf and then went for ice cream. The owner was at the wood shed and then came over to say he would be with us shortly. When he arrived behind the window at the ice cream booth I ordered 4 ice creams, one for myself and one for each of my three grandkids. While he was bringing the last ice cream I said it’s nice to be served by you I’ve never seen you serving ice cream. He quickly became very agitated, raised his voice at me, accused me of having a lot of attitude and for me to rephrase my comment. I told him I wasn’t giving any attitude. He was very angry at this point and when I finished paying he told me to leave and slammed the window shut while we were still standing there. We started to walk away and could then hear him yelling and screaming all kinds of obscenities. We could hear him continue to yell obscenities as we went to our vehicle even though the window was closed. Not the kind of experience I was expecting nor the type of thing I want my grandkids witnessing. I’ve been going to Shivers and Shakes for a long time, but that will be my last trip there.
ENTER WITH EXTREME CAUTION!
We arrived in Grand Bend for the first time, excited to check out all the shops. We first saw Shivers and Shakes and decided to stop in for ice and ice cream. The moment we pulled in, a man—who seemed out of place—started following us, which made us feel very uneasy and uncomfortable.
The shop had a lot to offer, but due to the discomfort of being followed, we decided to move on.
Noticing a market across the street, we asked a young man working at the counter if there was a parking lot nearby for a truck and trailer so we could explore the market. That’s when the same man stepped in and abruptly, rudely told us to leave the property. We hadn’t asked to park there—just inquired if there was a lot nearby.
I don’t recommend stopping here due to the mistreatment of customers.
Great place to buy firewood and their store has a ton a neat stuff. Good ice cream too! Staff are friendly.
Some old white dude starting cussing at us directly when we asked clarification on the price and lost his temper. Talk about customer service💀
Best prices, best service

My boy was here today with my host family! I’ve been here 25 years ago and today he came with my Canadian family! He loved!
We are from Brazil!
