I was here for a wellness retreat and I had a fabulous time. The staff here went above and beyond to accommodate our group and made sure it was a memorable and enjoyable experience. The outdoor set up is amazing - firepits, hot tub, pool, volleyball court. This is a gem of a place and so close to the beach!

Stayed Sept-2025 we knew there would be a chance we wouldn’t be able to make use of the pool because of weather, which was fine.
Room: Very small, no dresser-pack lightly. Bugs squished on the walls, spiders, tons of cob webs, floor was dirty, sheets had stains, toothpaste on the tile where the sink is. Carpet at the door ( inside ) had mud on it.
Outside: Pool didn’t see very clean, hot tub had sand. The outside bar was closed up beside the pool. Not sure if it’s cause the time of year or not.
Pros: heat worked good, hot water and pressure were good In the shower and the bed was comfortable. The young girl at the front was sweet.
I did ask them to re clean my room, and re change my sheets. Even then the floor was dirty- thankfully she was in the room beside mine and I asked to use the broom and swept it myself.
This place has ALOT of potential. I think these Reno’s are only a few years old- I’m surprised it is this way. It’s simple things they need to improve to get this place back into shape.
1. clean your pool, and hot tub regularly 2. Get a swifter with the long pole to reach the cob webs and spiders on the ceiling. Every clean. 3. When you kill bugs or see bugs killed. Wipe the wall off. 4. Get new sheets if the old ones are stained. 5. Sweep, mop and then vacuum the room. It’s not carpet it’s so easy to clean. 6. Also, there is a coffee pot in the room, switch to a keurig. 7. Clean the carpet In the room with a power washer if needed. The type of carpet it is- holds a lot of hair. I would change.
It’s really too bad cause it really has potential. They just let it slip. Not worth the money. I wish I would have read the reviews before I had went. If they just fixed these essentially “small easy to fix issues” this place would be so cute.
I thought maybe my time here was a “one off” but based on the reviews it seems as though it was not.

Me and my sister recently stayed at the Kiwi for a little girl’s getaway. It as such a wonderful experience. The rooms were beautiful and clean, the amenities were gorgeous and relaxing, and the service was exceptional. Mellisa is the sweetest !! And only a 10 min walk to the beach. We had so much fun here, and will definitely be coming back next year !

I’ll start this by saying, I’ve never written a bad review prior to this and realize the impact it can have on a small business, but don’t know where to turn because no one is answering us! My friend and I arrived at this motel with high hopes, but unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant. When we entered our room, it was immediately clear that it hadn't been cleaned properly. The floors were dirty and there were bugs, spiders and spider-webs in the bathroom and behind toilet. We were disappointed and naturally, decided we couldn't stay there for the price. On the plus side, the manager, Melissa, was very kind and understanding when we explained the situation. She assured us that we'd receive a refund without any issues and promised to handle everything quickly. At that point, we felt taken care of and were appreciative of her professionalism. However, that’s where the positive experience ended. We ended up paying $400 to stay elsewhere that night, expecting the refund from this motel to make things right. As we had just spent $353 at the kiwi, for that night. It’s been over a month and despite Melissa’s initial promise, we still haven’t received any refund. We’ve tried reaching out multiple times via phone and email, but no one has responded. It's incredibly frustrating to feel ignored after being told we'd be taken care of. Unfortunately, what could've been a decent experience was ruined by poor follow-up and lack of communication. I can’t recommend staying here until they address these issues. It’s a shame because Melissa seemed genuinely nice, but the lack of customer service afterward is hard to overlook.

I stayed one night in the King Mango/Papaya room and really wanted to love this place but I left disappointed, especially for the price.
Pros: • The grounds are nicely landscaped and the pool area looks inviting. • The decor shows effort in trying to make the space stylish.
Cons: • The mattress was sunken in the middle and uncomfortable, with rough linens and very thin pillows that made for a poor night’s sleep. The bed frame was very squeaky with any movement. • The blackout blinds didn’t fully block light as they were smaller than the window so the room stayed bright from streetlights. To make matters worse, the TV turned on by itself in the middle of the night. • Very minimal in-room amenities — no noticeable Wi-Fi and only a small amount of coffee/tea. • The pool has no privacy from the active construction site right next door. Noise was an issue, and once building progresses it will likely be worse. • They allow non guests into the pool area so the pool got overcrowded with many kids and people just there for the day. Then the next morning the pool was closed for treatment. Most likely from the overuse from the day prior. Would be nice to have the pool for overnight guest use only.
Overall, this motel looks appealing at first glance but the basics of comfort and value just aren’t there. Unfortunately, it wasn’t worth the money.

We wanted to like the Kiwi Motel based on the pictures, but unfortunately it didn’t live up to the promise…definitely not for close to $500/night for a mid-week stay in the summer.
We had room 1 with a soft mattress, a squeaky bed frame, and a duvet cover with blood stain on it.
The amenities look great in the pictures, but seem to have been minimally maintained since then. The pool was 3/4 full. The fence gate barely on its hinges.
The one person working there for the duration of our overnight stay was delightful…but clearly stretched in too many directions.
Just because it’s yet another wannabe refreshed motel with beach vibes aesthetic that’s fuel for the socials doesn’t mean it lives up to it IRL. Based on what we got the most I’d pay for a night and be fine with is like $250 all-in.

My husband and I just spent 3 nights at this motel and it was beyond expectation! For the price, location and service you can't find better in Grand Bend! We searched for dog friendly accommodations because our fur baby travels everywhere with us and we were so pleased with the experience! The staff ( particularly the manager is the nicest person and clearly cares about this gorgeous space) will 100% be returning!

Avoid!! Skip this place. Would have been better in its glory 20 years ago. Now it’s poorly run, not clean, misleading, not worth the $500!! There were bugs squished on our walls. Spider webs and big spiders in the corners, hot tub was dirty, pool area is a joke. No towels. When we asked for some we got little tiny mini ones, bar was closed and looks like it’s not been used in a a long time, meanwhile hotel was sold out. Needless to say we did not stay long came saw and lasted an hour before we packed a bags and drove home. No thank you! Best part was when we checked in at 3:05pm and the person helping us said oh check in isn’t until 4 but we can give you early check i. I said that’s great thanks. Then because of the way he said that I then asked, what do you mean early check in? Is there a fee for that. He said yep $25. So I declined and we waited by the pool while it was lightly spitting with rain might I add.
Read tripadvisor reviews. They seem to have more true reviews and experiences. Wish I would have seen before we went

I booked 4 rooms at the beginning of June for a bachelorette and have been chasing a refund for being overcharged since then. I had originally booked for an extra person but notified them via email and telephone weeks prior that we no longer needed it and was assured I would be discounted. I brought it up again on arrival and the manager mentioned being able to give us an even further discount and never mentioned that my card had already been charged. I went to check the final price when I got home because I was excited about saving even more only to find I'd been overcharged. The cabannas are extremely overpriced and are not poolside. We rented one and barely used it. It also wasn't blocked of or marked occupied so other people were using it freely. Also, our main room had lots of dead bugs in window sills / under the bed, spiders and cobwebs, stained sheets, etc... The guests we had in other rooms also noted the same things. The only positive I'm left with is that it's not even 15 minutes to walk to the water. Overall, super disappointed in the service & cleanliness. Hoping this might prompt someone to actually process my refund!

My daughter and I came in to ask if we could purchase a day pass to use the pool and lounge area, the staff told us we could use the pool as long as we ordered food. They were so incredibly friendly and kind. The food was awesome! We got tacos and chips + salsa and a mimosa. All of it was delicious and reasonably priced. We had so much fun at the pool and hot tub. Service was amazing.The manager (who was constantly walking around helping with housekeeping, bar keeping, and maintenance around the pool area) asked us if we needed anything else, and the other staff member came around again after delivering our original order and asked us if we needed anything else. The Kiwi was our favourite part of the weekend hands down! Thank you!!
