Grand River Chop House

We have been to the Chop House a couple times before and food was fantastic. Its's been 1.5yrs since we've been and will not return. 23-Feb-2025 here we go... started with an unclean sticky table, then my draft beer was skunky. My starter caesar salad ($11) was withered romaine with very little dressing, no parm and no bacon. I went with my go-to and their famous pork schnitzel and was disappointed. The seasonal veggies were cold (2 carrot rounds, 2 zucchini ends, 3 bell pepper strips), cube of butter sitting on the cold mashed potatoes and the butter wouldn't melt. My wife's mashed potatoes were cold with a cube of butter and burnt meatloaf that was also cold. So, for one drink each, only one starter salad and two mains, the bill was over $100. We don't mind paying for a good meal; however, this wasn't it. Other than the schnitzel, everything tasted a day old and cold. Not looking for any follow up or compensation.

The service was kind of slow but the food was great, their steak is fulfilling with the side of fries it is pretty good. However there were flies and kept coming around us and the tables were a little sticky but that the only concerns.

The experience was nice for a take out lunch. The bartender Chase was professional and courteous to answer questions while simultaneously taking orders. The food spot is definitely a go to for my family, if we were to go out together. Other than that, a perfect place to get a bite to eat on a lunch break for those who work from home or on the go. I got pizza rolls and did they ever make me think of a roadhouse.

we ordered take out a few weeks ago, I ordered a Roast beef sandwich. That was the most disappointing piece sandwich i ve had in a long time. The poor cow who gave her life for this would be mortified
Dry bun, no lettuce, tomato, cheese.. just plain dry sandwich to dip in a slightly brown beef water (the dip) was just the cherry on the cake
For the person who made that sandwich, please give up cooking, or put some love into it at least

There were 6 of us celebrating my daughter’s birthday. The food was delicious and everyone was so kind. Our server was amazing. Thank you so much!! :) will def be back

we planned a bike trip from Arthur to Grabd Valley and back, all summer. Our target and reward (halfway)? a Burger and a beer (root beer for our kids) Sept 2024. we made it! We were greeted by the usual great service. Refueles with water, carbs, a salad, wings and burgers (beera for Mom and Dad ?) what a Delight! Will be back again soon for another treat, to dine out somewhere local. Thanks Kim for the wonderful meal and service.

Absolutely love eating here, the burgers are amazing! Also recommend the S’Pasta. Portions are big, always leave satisfied. The staff are professional and top notch service. Patio is large and inviting on those nice summer days. Will be back again!

The Chop House has a variety of tasty comfort food situated in a quiet rustic surrounding. Service is fast & courteous. Nice patio to enjoy a cold drink on a hot summer day.
