I absolutely love this place. I used to come here all the time to read. Unfortunately I had to stop going due to the smell. You donât realize it when youâre in there but when I leave everything down to my hair smells like it. It sticks to my bag and my clothes I couldnât stand it anymore! It makes me sad because thereâs no other place around like this and the staff is so friendly I will miss it!

As a 19-year-old, Iâm not typically the type to jump straight to writing a Google review, but I felt I had to share my experience from this morning because it was so unusual.
My friends and I ordered one chai latte with caramel, one chai latte with oat milk, and one caramel iced coffee. When the drinks were brought out, the waitress placed mine down and said it was a chai latte. I politely said, âSorry, I ordered a caramel iced coffee,â and she responded with, âYes, thatâs what I said.â I was a bit taken aback, especially since my friends also heard her say chai latte and confirmed it afterward.
After we finished eating and drinking, she asked if that was everything, and we said yes. We waited for her to come back so we could pay, but she never did. Eventually, we went up to the counter and waited a few more minutes before she said, âYou guys have to pay with me,â which was confusing since thatâs exactly what we were trying to do.
When she asked us to repeat our orders, we clearly explained what each of us had. My friend noticed that her side of bacon wasnât on the bill and pointed it out. The waitress seemed frustrated and responded, âYes, Iâm trying to do it,â which again felt unnecessary.
After my friends paid, I noticed I was charged for a chai latte with caramel instead of a caramel iced coffee, which was an extra 75 cents more. When I asked for it to be corrected, she replied, âWell, thatâs why I asked what drinks you guys got so I could split it properly.â We had already told her our orders, so this response felt dismissive.
Overall, the tone and remarks were unexpected from someone working in the service industry. Afterward, I mentioned the experience to a friendâs sister, and she shared that sheâd had a similar encounter with the same waitress, which was disappointing to hear.
On a positive note, the food itself was great â itâs just unfortunate that the service took away from what could have been a really enjoyable visit.

Soup , just fair. Mostly the coffee and drinks are good. Baked goods are plain but tasty. The service is not consistent, sometimes ok sometimes not good. The staff seem unimpressed to serve. There are no happy faces.
I'm always amazed at how uncomfortable the chairs and seating areas are. The decor in this restaurant leaves me wondering why the owner has never thought to replace the tired rickety furniture. The bathrooms are messy and not cleaned very often and very cold. So this restaurant can serve you a nice cup of tea , but really falls down on comfort and atmosphere.

Great spot for a warm cup of any beverage - the atmosphere is warm and inviting and every menu item feels like top quality with a reasonable price. Staff are welcoming, helpful and kind. many coffee house options are available and it feels much better than any other Big Chain Barrista coffee spot. Definitely one to try - stop in and try some food or order your drink to go!

One of my favourite places. Whenever I'm passing through I always plan a stop for a great cappuccino, lunch or just a treat from the counter. My kids love the Hello Sailor bars. I've worked remotely from here a few times and the atmosphere is very cozy.

Everything about this place is awesome except for the service.. and it's not the fault of the server. They only seem to have one server on duty. I've been here dozens of times. There's always a wait in line, a wait to order or a wait for your food. I'll wait to pay the bill.. can you hire one or two more people please?

We were a party of three sitting on the front patio. One of us had the large quesadilla it was huge and delicious. The other one had the chicken and brie sandwich delicious as well! Vegan chilli was really delicious homemade and very clean tasting lots of options for a vegan. Very impressed with that. The coffee excellent. The coffee cake muffin worth every penny !! â€ïž Outstanding service by Cameron he was a gracious and lovely young man who made us feel very welcome and well cared for!!! Thank you, Cameron for the excellent service. We will definitely be back. This is a great spot in the beautiful downtown of Grimsby.
