The Olive Board Charcuterie & Wine Bar

I really wanted to *love* this restaurant. It’s such an adorable spot, but I think I might have caught it on an off night. There were three of us, and the table we were seated at was a bit uncomfortable. We were initially given regular menus but not the drink or seasonal menus. About 10 minutes later, the waitress realized and brought over the drink menu. We only found out about the seasonal menu because we overheard the table behind us ordering something that wasn’t on ours, so we asked about it.

We ordered an appetizer, but it never arrived. While the food was good, it wasn’t exceptional. On the bright side, the drinks were excellent. Overall, it’s a charming place, but be prepared to wait service is not the quickest.

Service was fantastic, waitress knew the answers to all of my questions. After a very brief explanation of my restrictions she pointed out a dish that suited me very well, the Salmon and broccolini was fantastic. Dish was served hot of the grill. Prices a very reasonable for the quality of food. Loved the idea of a flight of wine, this permitted me to try different wines from the Niagara region. Leah did a amazing job, thank you

Extremely disappointing experience. Waitress did not know about wines and works at a wine bar. Ordered apps, lobster bisque was not hot would have been better hotter for sure. Ordered pasta, never order the pasta. It was over cooked and tasted like paste. Three of us ordered this and the men ate it because they were hungry. Waitress made excuses as why it was that way. Manager came over and asked if I wanted another I graciously said no! When we were finished the waitress said,"Time is up two bills? Anyone want dessert to go?" We all just looked at eachother.

We have been to the wine bar in Ancaster it was fabulous and service was by far amazing.

Very sad when you pay so much. One thing was good it was the wine.

Stick to the charcuterie.

My wife and I had dinner here recently and I was very impressed with this restaurant. The service was excellent with recommendations and suggestions for wine and different cheeses. The portions were very good and the food taste was excellent. Perhaps to me the most enjoyable part of the dinner was not just the flavours, but the textures! The tomatoes in the Caprese salad were firm and cut well and mixed perfectly with the consistency of the mozzarella. I requested more of the glaze and it was provided without question. I also had the chicken sliders and both the amount of toast on the buns and the texture of the chicken were exactly to my liking!
I see they now have outdoor winter chalet's for private dining. We will be there next week to try one of these out!

The new location is absolutely stunning 🤩 I’m so happy that they offering the brunch menu again. It’s a spectacular experience! Must try! We don’t have anything like this in Grimsby.
We are so grateful and lucky having you here.

If I can suggest please work on pancakes to be more fluffy and add 2 more eggs(we did request) to the steak / egg board add please, please add tongs for those brunch boards, it’s difficult to operate the food without. Thank you for being flexible.

Food- we didn't even have a chance to get this far.
Service- servers should be more knowledgeable about product... prosecco.. on ice in a eine glass?
Probably want to tone down their conversations about their weekend plans and not eat in front of guests.
This restaurants life line will be dependent on the fact its in a condo building.

I've always enjoyed my time at The Olive Board in Grimsby and would rate the food, service, and wine selection a solid 5/5! Every experience I've had here has been outstanding. However, I do want to share some constructive feedback about the lighting in the evening. It feels harsh and cool-toned, which detracts from the cozy, inviting atmosphere one might expect in a wine bar. Ideally, I think a warmer, dimmer ambiance could enhance the experience and make it even more enjoyable. The pendant lights over the tables in particular are quite distracting. I truly appreciate this place and hope they consider altering the lighting to create a more comfortable environment for their guests!

This was our 1st time dining here. My sisters treated me to a birthday lunch. It was fabulous. We shared a charcuterie board, which was perfect with the California merlot wine. Good portions of cheese, meat, and sides. Our server, Melissa, was so good at her job. She was terrific and definitely made it even better.
Cappuccino & salted carmel cheesecake ended a great lunch. The local shops were great, and the location led us for a nice walk after. Unfortunately, I was having such a nice time that I didn't take pictures of the food. No worries, we will be coming back soon!

to start I'd like to give a give a 5 star for the food! it's absolutely amazing. unfortunately the service on Saturday September 15th was not the best service ? it was not the fault of our server. she did her very best under the circumstances. it was too busy and definitely understaffed. unfortunately our server didn't have the chance to be as attentive as needed. we finished our dinner and we sat for well over 20 minutes clearly done and no one approached us to clear our plates or ask if we wanted takeout boxes. I finally had to ask for takeout boxes and I also ordered cheesecake. 20 minutes later we still hadn't been given the boxes or our dessert. I had to ask again and within 5 minutes received both. we finished our dessert and waited another 20 minutes for our bill to come. this really shouldn't have happened if staffed properly. I felt so bad for our server she was running around like a chicken with her head cut off. everyone working was doing their very best but unfortunately it came off as appearing very disorganized and scattered. I will go back because the food is excellent but I will be very hesitant to go again on a Saturday night

I wanted a little nibble while enjoying the view of Lake Ontario which is a block or so away. I grabbed a Cowboy Caviar to go and was not disappointed! It was DELICIOUS!!! And it was the perfect picnic type of snack I was looking for. It was a very generous portion and the service was fast and friendly. Highly recommend checking them out!

Wow!!! Met a client for a formal business lunch. Atmosphere was perfect. The service was top notch. The food was amazing. You could taste the freshness of the Ingredients. Will definitely be back to try other options. So much to choose from on their new menu!

Great atmosphere, food & service. This is a great place to visit with friends & family in the gorgeous inside lounge or cozy outdoor patios. With an amazing ambiance, great food & friendly staff this should be one of your go to places in Grimsby. The new location along with the live music/singer has brought a real breathe of fresh air to the community. The Olive Board is a 10/10 experience!
