Great spot love the classic counter seating. Breakfast was excellent , not fancy but fresh eggs and peameal bacon. Friendly staff. A must stop on Hwy 6 , lots of parking.

It's true that the Hewitt's Dairy Bar is unassuming inside and out ~ so much so, that we almost drove right past it.
On this day in late fall, there was definitely a mix of locals and people like us who were just passing through.
The kids behind the ice cream counter were friendly and helped us looking through their many choices as it was clearly our first time here. Their ice cream was tasty and the serving was generous.

My favourite place to stop for lunch between Hamilton and Port Dover. An old school lunch counter that serves burgers, sandwiches, fries, meat pies and more. Owned by a dairy, they have lots of ice cream to choose from, as well as many ice cream treats and milkshakes. You can also buy milk, cheese and ice cream from the dairy to take home too. I personally love their banquet burger, fully dressed, with a side of fries and gravy. True comfort food!
It's just not the same. Grill is shut off at 7PM sharp! Long wait times for just a cone. Customer service is not good. Still good ice cream and shakes.

My daughter and I went there today, it was not busy. We got a couple cartons of icecream and a kiddy cup for her. When asked if they had a certain flavour of icecream, one of the employees with red hair said "if you looked on the board and it's not up there then we don't have it" in a very unprofessional manner. I feel like 2 containers of icecream and a kiddy cup of icecream at $21 voiced a better attitude from a senior employee. When simply asked a simple question as a professional, you do require the customer a professional answer not an informal one. Least to say your icecream is great hewitts but I won't be back if that's how you treat your customers infront of your other employees. Poor professional attitude.
