My buddy and I spotted this place while out on the bikes and decided to grab some lunch. It's a great little spot in a nice little town in middle of nowhere, if you go on motorcycle or car cruises or 507 highway etc definitely set GPS for this spot for some lunch. Prices were great the food was amazing, you get large servings and afterwards you'll find it tough to ride it drive with full belly. Lol

Over many years we have eaten at McKeck's but our recent visit was disappointing. We ordered drinks and received them. Once our food order was taken we waited a lengthy time to receive them. There were several tables around us who came in after us but received there food some time before ours arrived. Even one finished and left before our food arrived. There were 4 of us and 3 had Fish and Chips. The chips were only warm and the fish batter was soggy. Our waiter seemed to disappear and after we were finished and someone took away our plates away, we waited some time to get our bills. The lunch took approx. 2 hours before we left. Certainly not what we have experienced at McKeck's in the past.

Was told this place had good food by a few locals....I worked in restaurants for over 12 years both in front and back of house. Never in my years of being in the industry have I seen such poor service.
For starts no one makes any effort to check the door for guests. And when they do look there reaction is crap I actually have to work now.
Beyond that environment was horribly depressing you definitely didn't feel welcomed in there. Beyond that they are so unorganized you can tell there's no proper management of care from the owner.
My gf ordered a ceaser and it was probably the worst ceaser we have ever tasted in our lives.
No one cared to check on us at all. I have tremendous respect for people In this industry but for the first time in my life, we walked out of the restaurant things were so poor they weren't even owed an explanation. Warning others to not waste your time

The staff should win an award for their hospitality, and genuine compassion towards their guests. I was recommend to this establishment as im not in Haliburton very often. When I am, im making some time to grab a Jd burger ( spicy ) and a Canadian.
Cheers,

Shockingly good. Fantastic service for 4 of us. A very knowledgeable and affable server (Kyle, though I’m sure all the servers are great) who took pride in ensuring we all got the type of meal we wanted. Beef dip, mussels, crispy chicken sandwich and Caesar salad, all were fantastic. What an absolute gem. Very recommended.

We have been coming to McKeck’s for several years and have never been disappointed. It has a rustic, cottagy, pubby, northern Ontario vibe. The food is amazing thanks to a wonderful chef and kitchen. We have tried many of the items on the menu and the food has always been delicious. The service tends to be a bit slow, but this is probably more of a relaxed attitude found in cottage country. They also do take-out which is very convenient. There is a large bar in the central section of the restaurant. There is also a patio at the other end of the restaurant which is open during the warm months - it is sunny, welcoming and has an amazing view especially of the sunset. If you’re ever in the Haliburton area, McKeck’s is a must-try spot! Would highly recommend!
