Match Eatery & Public House - Hanover

Went today Sept 6th after spending a couple hours at the race track. We were there for happy hour and enjoyed some drinks. Ordered our food fish and chips, ultimate club and fish sandwich and all of it was very good. The only issue was the cold slaw that came with the fish and chips had no dressing on it or if it did it was very very little. Will surely go back

Nice bright place, very comfortable booths with padded seating. All chairs looked very comfortable. Clean, modern, food was delicious at lunch. I had the Thai Peanut Chicken salad.

We have eaten here many times before and it is our go to for a night out. We have never been disappointed yet .

We came in for dinner arriving at 630pm. At 7:10pm the waitress finally took our order. Our drinks took 10 minutes to arrive. Our medium rare steak sandwich was well done. The salad was drenched in dressing. Our server quality checked our food when we were almost done. The food was mediocre at best. The whole experience took over 2 hours. Every other table in the place was served before us, even though some of them arrived after us. We won’t be back any time soon.

Was not expecting live music. We found it far too loud and unable to comfortably have a conversation without raising our voices. It was not dinner volume music, or relaxing. It detracted from the dining experience. However, the service was great as usual.

My husband went out on a rare Tuesday night, after a very stressful couple of days for dinner at Match. Barely started when our daughter called to let us know, her dog had been stung by something. We asked the servers to pack up our leftovers, paid our bill and hurriedly left. About 10 minutes away from the restaurant our daughter called to say everything was fine, so we headed back to the restaurant, hoping they would let us finish our meal and provide the cutlery to do so.
Not only were they so very accommodating of our needs, they made us a completely fresh meal at no charge. A HUGE THANK YOU to Chris and her staff for making our night and making us feel like we really mattered.

Match has been one of my favourite places to eat since I have moved to the area. I hate to say that I really have not been impressed the last few times that I have been. When you spend top dollar, you expect it to be good! (Atleast as good as when you first started going) My favourite has always been the Nashville hot sandwich. Every time I go now I have to ask for EXTRA Nashville because there isn't any on it, it's just a normal chicken burger. When I asked for extra(multiple times), it still comes out with nothing on it and then the server has to take it back to the kitchen or brings me the actual seasoning. If I go back, I know what I'm not getting. I made up my own recipe to make it better at home. I have cooked for years, I know when people order Nashville, they like spice. Not none at all!

The wings seem to have gotten smaller and the Ceasar salad was just mediocre. They both used to be great. Sad

My family, friends and I have never had meal here. Great friendly staff, delicious food and fun, warm atmosphere. Shelley is fabulous!

It was really cold in the main dining room so we ate out on the patio. Wings were excellent, half price on Thursday plus half price wine until 5.30pm...you can't bear that.

Other than the hostess not wanting to seat us on the patio after I had already specifically reserved outdoor seating for us the experience was great
