We are in Essex, ON for our annual anniversary vacation, our first real visit to Canada during the first week of Summer. Looking for a special place to celebrate, The Trattoria at Paglione Estate Winery was the best choice. Driving by several local wineries during our trip in the area, this place drew us in. We do enjoy a good charcuterie board, and the unanimous decision was the Antipasto Misto. Beautifully crafted and presented with three delicious meats, cheeses, dipping oil, olives and fresh fruit, crostini. Everything paired perfectly with their delicious sangria. And we took a chilled bottle of the sangria to enjoy later. As visitors from the US, we thank you for a world class experience.
Paglione Winery advertised a winter lunch special 2 can dine for $29. We drove 40 min. today to find they were closed for a private event. There was no update on their Fb ad and very poor attitude by staff once we arrived to find it was closed to the public. They obviously do not appreciate their regular customers. Would not recommend this winery.
An amazing place with incredible service, wine, and woodfire pizza! My parents were visiting from overseas and the winery made us all feel so welcome. My wife and I will definitely be returning :)
Highly recommend!
We visited yesterday as a group of 16 and had a reservation. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the assistant manager, Bernice, who didn't seem pleased to see us. Although she was expecting us, we had a few extra guests (four in total) that our organizer hadn’t communicated in advance, which understandably seemed to annoy her. The restaurant wasn't busy, but she asked us to wait outside while she figured out how to accommodate the additional guests. We didn't mind waiting, and she soon came out with a somewhat curt comment about how quickly she had resolved the issue.
Once inside, we were seated at two large tables next to each other. Bernice immediately informed our host that everything had to be put on one bill due to policy, which surprised us since that hadn't been mentioned during booking. We ordered our food, which arrived without issue. However, our waiter seemed rushed, as soon as we finished eating, she handed us the bill right away.
Sitting near the entrance allowed me to observe how other guests were treated, and I noticed they received a much friendlier welcome. This was my first experience at the restaurant, and I left feeling disappointed. I had hoped for a pleasant visit, but from the moment we arrived, I didn’t feel welcomed.
We had pizza and a lobster and crab dip which was amazing, it was a well recommended place so we decided to try it out. I'm very disappointed on the lack of service we received but overall food was great .. service ruined the first time winery experience.
Warning: not a fine dinning as advertised. Croutons on the salad were made of hard, stale bread. Summer pasta had 5 pods of peas, lots of grease and cold dried bits of prosciutto only. Won't come back. Pasta not freshly cooked, hard and dry. The wine, on the other hand, was excellent.
One of the most amazing experiences I have had at a winery. The pizza and wine were incredible and Alanna was absolutely amazing. She made our day. So much so that we actually went back twice in the same day! We will be back!
Had a get together for a 59th wedding anniversary with 10 adults and 3 kids. Ethan was our server and our experience was 10/10. Ethan was attentive, polite and overall just a pleasure to have wait on us. The kitchen did a wonderful job getting everything out in a timely manner, and not to mention was one of the best meals we’ve had in the Essex county area. Will be back and will always recommend.
The worst winery. They are the only winery open late in that region so they take advantage of people. We arrived on Thursday at 6:30 and wanted to sample some of their wines. When we walked in, they asked us if we were eating. We said no. They told us to sit on one of the picnic tables which we did not mind. We waited for more than 10 minutes and nobody came with the menus of to take our orders. I got up and walked to the host and asked for the menu. She gave it to me. I went back and looked at it. Once we decided what we want, we waited for more than 10 minutes again and nobody came to take our order. We walked out. Horrible service and staff. Will not be back again even if it was the last winery open late (8 pm) on a thursday.
AMAZING! Had a couple pizzas with some arancini, sangria and sorbet with my girlfriends last week. The service was spectacular. We asked to get a photo and the server was so helpful, showed us a great location and took a TON of photos so we could pick the best. The food and location are perfect.

Clean, moderate upscale reel, and moderately priced. I like that they have cocktails as I am not a huge wine fan. (Old fashioned). Service is extremely slow and you might get forgotten about.
Great food, Great wine, Great service!
My girlfriend and I checked out a few wineries in the area and this one was by far the best. We both loved it!
I’m not a big wine drinker and I enjoyed and finished every single one they brought out.
Food was amazing as well.
If you’re in the Harrow area looking to go to a winery, would recommend this one over any other! 10/10
12/10
We had the sweetest server who took the time to look through the menu with us to find wines that both myself and boyfriend would enjoy, explained the history of each and didn’t miss on a single one. We had the Stallone pizza that we will absolutely be going back for and the atmosphere was beyond stunning. Of the 3 wineries we visited today, this was our favourite and we both can’t recommend it enough.
Fun place with great food and of course wine. Ordered calamari and caesar salad both fantastic. Pizza was so good , ordered one to go. Wine was also very good and took another bottle to share while staying at Lungovita Beach Retreat. Did seem at little short staffed but Ethan explained why and ran his tail off making sure all his tables mostly outside were looked after. Never felt rushed but welcomed. Nice outdoor patio, with clean bathrooms and ample parking. Left in a good mood, well done and thank you !
Such a beautiful property. Pizza was amazing and so was their peach sangria and pinto grigio. It was our second visit and always a success.
