Absolutely unacceptable experience. I ordered a large pizza with pepperoni, bacon, mushrooms, and chili flakes and the bill came to over $61 before tip — more than $70 for one pizza with tip..
Looking at the receipt, I realized why: $30 for the base pizza (Pepperoni Pizza), then $9 for bacon, $7.50 for mushrooms, and another $7.50 for hot peppers. Instead of a Combination type price. At Gabriel's in the city this is a $36 pizza taxed included. $24 in extra charges for basic toppings you’d expect to be reasonably priced.
When I called back to question it, I was told it was my fault because I didn’t order the pizza by its “menu name.” Since I didn’t have a menu (I don’t live in Hawkesbury), I was charged ingredient by ingredient at inflated prices.
Instead of helping, the person on the phone said “too bad” and hung up on me.
This is nothing short of price gouging and terrible customer service. I had ordered from them to support a local business struggling due to construction, but after being blatantly ripped off, I’ll never give them another cent. Businesses that treat customers like this should be ashamed.
How did the pizza taste? Bitter... very bitter!
