My family had come from Ottawa to spend the weekend. There were 17 of us in total. I had requested the patio, not only is that exactly where we were sat, there was no wait, and they were ready for us. The food, oh the delicious food! Never a disappointment, a melody of flavours blended with delight. It came out all at once and hot!! AND each meal was placed in front of the right person. The service was impeccable, glasses were topped up constantly under the hot August sun. Our servers were AMAZING! They even managed to get the bills split into families and not one item was out of place. Hats off to That Little Place By The Lights! You truly outdid yourselves. Thank you!

I am so disappointed to share that we had one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever gone through with my family at That Little Place By the Lights today. We are avid travellers and big supporters of small businesses — and we’ve actually eaten here every time we come to Huntsville, including a lunch less than two weeks ago where we spent over $250 at the establishment. Between my friend and I, we have 6 children + 3 adults (but one is an infant). My friend secured a reservation for 8. My husband remained the restaurant (with our youngest sleeping in the stroller) as we had been instructed it would be a 20+ minute wait, and we brought our children to the book store to avoid disturbing patrons. After nearly 30 minutes my husband was asked how many guests we had. He did not book the reservation and was unsure — so he said 11. It was only 8 + one infant. My friend, who booked the reservation, was not called. The manager (or owner - I’m unsure) and hostess then told him they cannot accommodate that number of guests. The manager was extremely rude, getting frustrated with my husband who was unsure of the number of guests and saying “how many human beings are eating”. This all took place after we had already waited over thirty minutes — which is not easy to do with children. I went into the restaurant to clarify literally 2 minutes later as this was an error. I was then treated with the same level of disrespect, despite remaining calm and understanding the whole time, and told we’d have to go back on the list and it would be a long wait. I don’t often make accusations or complain, but it really felt like there was no desire to attend to us because we had kids (or because of race, who knows). Many adult groups came in after us with groups and were seated almost immediately. Our group even could have been split in two — there was just no attempt to serve us. Resulting in the owner or manager literally scoffing at me, and then my friend when she went in to ask, and turning his back and walking away. As great as the food has been in our past experiences, customer service matters — and I would never go back to an establishment that treats customers in this way with no humanity, compassion, or respect.

Had a lovely dinner here last week while vacationing Muskoka. I had creamy pesto penne with shrimp and shared the burrata appetizer with my family. I also grabbed a tiramisuand a puttanesca sauce to bring home. I haven't yet tried the Puttanesca sauce but I devoured my tiramisu, it was divine. Highly recommend checking out this quaint little restaurant if you're in Huntsville.

Our daughter had highly recommended coming to this restaurant and she was absolutely correct. I had the homemade gnocchi which was delicious, I have found at some restaurants their gnocchi can be heavy and I don’t eat a lot of it, but this gnocchi was light and airy with an amazing sauce ate every last bit. My husband enjoyed his penne and we both loved the Antipasto platter, will definitely be back.
