We went as a group of 26 for dinner
We had zero expectations and were very pleasantly blown away with both the service and the quality of food.
We had a lot of kids with us and the service was impeccable for them as well
Kid-friendliness: They have a very special kids menu

We only had a drink, but we can highly recommend the South African Sauvinon Blanc. As I said, we can't comment on the food, but on a Friday evening the restaurant looks more like a children's playground than a restaurant. The noise is indescribable and it is a miracle that none of the waiters stumble over the children running around in confusion. Staff Statement: Welcome to our Playground!

I love this restaurant because when you stay at this hotel, you don’t have to go anywhere in search of food. The menu, in principle, has not changed over the years, and this gives a sense of stability, knowing what you can count on. We tried almost everything on the menu; the portions are quite large. The pizza is large, and we always take a lot of food to our room. The service is very friendly. In general, we really like this place and the hotel and restaurant itself; we relax here every summer

Awful food unfortunately! I don’t ever write reviews but this place needs the ugly truth! Be better!

Okay, if you get dinner, the food is okay. But the breakfast is so meh. It’s crazy to spend $15 + tax on “buffet” breakfast that SHOULD be included in the hotel bill. Options were lacking and the food quality was not up to par. Service for the restaurant complemented the food. The dinner was also not incredibly price friendly but maybe expected at a resort.

I had the breakfast buffet at the Birches with my family. I thought the quality and selection of food was very mediocre for the price. But my one star rating is for the complete "don't care" attitude of the manager. My pancake had a mosquito cooked in it. Disgusting! I showed it to the server who was very apologetic, and took my plate to the manager. I could hear him say out loud "well there are mosquitoes everywhere, she can't have a free meal". The server told him that I didn't ask for anything. The manager then comes up to my table and says "This is Muskoka, there are mosquitoes everywhere. One just bit my hand".That's it! No apologies. If the manager of this restaurant thinks it's okay for guests to have a sampling of Muskoka's insects in their food, well good luck to this restaurant! This meal was an unpleasant start to a beautiful vacation day.
Good food! Ate breakfast and 2 dinners. Had the chicken Caesar 1st night, and my daughter had the chicken fingers. Both were done to perfection. 2nd night we both had burgers and again done to perfection, very tasty! Stacked high with bacon, cheese, onionrings, tomatoes. Our server for both dinners was Justin, he was very attentive. We had the breakfast buffet one morning, we did not have any other choice( no menu). A bit pricey but at least the food was good, fresh, tasty.

the staff was amazing and super friendly!
Kid-friendliness: There were a lot of basics on the menu, most kids should be able to find something they enjoy

Karen was the best part of our stay!! She was hilarious and our entertainment for the evening. Thank you Karen for such a super dining experience.
Good quality but not very original. Standard fare only - hamburgers, Caesar salad, fish and chips. Meals are prepared well and served with care, but the restaurant seems to have marketed itself as a much more upscale facility. If your stay at Hidden Valley Resort this is also where breakfast is served. The buffet is very good and offers a nice range of food.
Food was delicious. I had the beef taco and the fish taco but another person at our table had the Buffalo chicken pizza and they said it was incredible. Karen the bartender is a real Jem and talking to her was a highlight of the trip. Becky our server handled our large party with ease and worked hard to provide us top service.
Great restaurant and food. It’s attached to hidden valley resort. Good place to stay while skiing. Hard working restaurant staff and especially Karen, we look forward to seeing her when we visit.
