Just for the owner or restaurant manager to know:On Sunday, I went to Avenu Restaurant at around 5 PM. In front of the door, I asked if they had any available tables for two people. They quickly responded, "Did you make a reservation?" I said no, and they replied, "We are fully booked." I mentioned that there were many empty tables, and they said, "They are all reserved," and left too quickly.I went to the website and made a reservation for the next 5 minutes, noticing that there were many available time slots until 7 PM, which means for the next 2 hours. I came back inside the restaurant and saw another couple having the same problem; they were waiting to be called in, but nobody did, and there was no space for them. In the 5 minutes I was there, I saw 5 families leave because the employees were saying, "We are fully booked," with a somewhat rude tone, while there were many available tables and available reservation times on the website. And they can make a suggestion to people check website.I think something is wrong here.

Nothing but a wonderful experience. We were a group of 6 (with two kids). We ordered a bunch of appetizers which included the two specials that Fernando (kudos to him and his memory) mentioned that caught my ears:PEI Mussels and Eggplant ParmigianaIt turned out so good that we wanted to take the remainder of the sauce home from the mussels. The rest were the Focaccia, Fries for the kids, assorted olives, Arancini, Involtini and the Caprese Insalate. For dessert as full as we were given we had breakfast/brunch not too long prior, we had to try the Creme brûlée.It was my daughters first time trying and it was definitely a hit with her.We were sat at a perfect spot (Thank-you to the hostess) where we were able to enjoy a little part of the patio and a little of the beautiful ambience on the inside.Fernando was super amazing, accommodating and friendly. We will definitely come back again very soon and solely request for you.Vegetarian options: Menu offers vegetarian optionsDietary restrictions: They offer dietary restrictions when it comes to allergies to dairyKid-friendliness: All staff members were friendly and smiling to my kidsWheelchair accessibility: The open space that the restaurant offers can easily accommodate wheelchair maneuvering

Food is okay, but the cocktails leave a lot to be desired. If you're looking for a quiet, intimate meal, look elsewhere. The restaurant is very loud and while it seems like a decent place for families, it's not ideal for couples. Servers were very friendly and the prices aren't terrible, but I'm not desperate to return.

It was a good Italian restaurant in Friday Harbour with a view especially in patio season…giving 4 star for food because there was no Chicken option in menu so I was little disappointed and it was bit expensive for a veggie

This is the best food and best service we've had all weekend. Our server, Fernando was on point the entire time. I never had an empty glass, never had to wait for things I wanted, and he was extremely pleasant. The starters were great, the pizza was amazing, my girlfriend had cacio de peppe was the best pasta she's ever had.Seriously, this was the highlight of trip!

Negative reviews are very deceiving. We experienced excellent service and the food was next level fantastic! Having an Italian background, we are very picky about our Italian food and where we eat. The burrata, pizza, focaccia and Prosecco took me back to the Amalfi coast with every bite. Fresh and full of flavour. Chicken parm was perfectly cooked and veggies were extremely tasty. Reserve your table - you won’t be disappointed!

The food is delicious but very expensive. We recommend the grilled halibut with pistachio crust abd vegetables.Very attentive server who checked with us for all the dishes when told that there was a cream allergy. Our meal for two was approximately $143, with the order of one soup, one salad, grilled halibut, two desserts, one coffee and tea with a sparkling water. This was the end of a mini vacation and definitely the most delicious and expensive meal for two for a late lunch.

The food is pretty good, standard Italian fare. The location is nice. But for a dinner costing around $200 per person, I was left underwhelmed. It is average at best and although this isn't the restaurant's fault, having children screaming and others running around the tables made for a stressful dinner and completely ruined the experience. The server was nice and accommodated dietary needs with patience, but she didn't inform us the ribeye they had on special was double the cost of most items on the menu. The whole experience felt more like a loud diner or sports bar. You're better off going to a chain restaurant like the keg.
