I struggled with posting this as some times its better to just move on instead of picking on a local place but for $150 for two people, it should be better and someone should speak up.

We did go there a few years back and I think it was OK? We went there on New Years eve for context. Server was pleasant. Ordered drinks and I had a Caesar. Lacked taste, asked for more spice. Barely any rim salt and still without much taste. This could be better but not a good start. A sign of things to come?

We ordered appetizers, I had the scallops. Rubbery. Sorry, for $24 for 4 scallops, they need to be done better. Was this a sign of things to come? Ordered the Lamb and others ordered prime rib. My lamb came as two pieces and one was literally raw while the other was cooked. How can a cook send out what is a small chop, raw? Not rare, cold to the touch. Is it your first day? I sent it back. They all agreed it was not med rare but raw. The prime rib at $50? I did not order it but it in my opinion was a sad piece of beef for $50. Covered in gravy. Not my liking but perhaps that's the way here. I think it was to cover the poor cut of beef. They asked for med well and it was pink. Seems doneness is an issue tonight.

It took a long time for my new dinner to come back. Everyone had finished their dinner and I got the new dish while they ate their dessert. Not good. We are out to celebrate and eat with friends. This time, they cut my chop in half to check it. I thought it was my original meal and had to ask. They proudly said they cut it to ensure it was done correctly. It was cooked inside better but you cut my food in half? Who does that? You butchered my dish so it looked like the one I sent back... Buy a thermometer, learn how to look for doneness.... Be a chef..... The bones on the chops were so well done (black and burnt) now that they disintegrated when I touched them. Black as the ace of spades I assume under some sort of thermal heating unit. I cut the sections, picked one up and the bone disintegrated. Guess if I want it done more, this is what I get. Were they mad at me and wanted to make a point?

They comped me the drink I had but the meal should have been comped. I ate it, $45, you bet I ate it. I think this place is a old friend to the area so I am confused. People around us complaining as well. Bad timing as they bring dishes out while people are still eating their apps. Table asked server where they should put the dishes as they were still eating. Server asked them if they wanted the main dish put back under the lamp. No word of a lie, he said that. I heard more complaining behind us about undercooked meat. If you got a new chef, its time to look again. If this is your guy, he needs some lessons. We wont be back and I would say at $150 for two people, there are dozens of good restaurants one can go to that will knock your socks off. Old friend or not, this experience was not good and they do not get my good word.

I am not looking for an apology or for any free meals. Glady will pay for a good meal. I see many good reviews so what happened? You need to do better.

I had such high hopes after hearing others speak of this place, but I left extremely disappointed. The service was mediocre; only two table touches during the entire meal despite being the only table there for the majority of our time. My biggest issue is my prime rib was undercooked. I asked for medium rare and was served a barely-warm rare piece. I would have loved to mention this during my meal but wasn’t given the chance as the server didn’t return past the first couple of bites c and it was clear I was eating around the prime rib.
When I mentioned it was underdone at the end it was arguably laughed off and I was offered a box. I took the meat to go and said “Yeah, I’ll go home and cook it myself.” We also heard the microwave’s distinctive tones before both our appetizers and mains hot the table, which I didn’t expect from a place that claims fo pride itself on quality ingredients and food.
Great atmosphere and cozy place, but I wish that wasn’t the only good thing I had to say.
Overall I wish I’d suggested someplace else for our anniversary dinner, and I’ll be quick to suggest anyplace else in the future.

Charming, out-of-the-way little place. Our waitress was very good with attentive service. The menu was not huge, but it had many delicious-sounding choices. I had the swordfish and it was perfection. My hubby had the lamb and he was delighted with how good it was. I highly recommend Davidson's. The owner was there and he saw us to our vehicle. One of the best evenings out we've enjoyed in a while.

This little jem is tucked away in a quite beautiful community. So much charm. The staff makes you feel welcome the moment you arrive. And the food you can taste the passion and thought behind each dish.

Absolutely breathtaking experience. Everything from the food, to the atmosphere to the service, it was the best dining experience I've ever had in all my 70 years of life. The waiter was a young gentleman who was Absolutely amazing, the owner came to our table to welcome us, and right as you walk through the door staff treats you like family. I thoroughly enjoyed my food as I've never had such a great meal. Thanks to davidsons for renewing my hope in humanity in my old age.

Davidson’s Country Dining is one of those rare places that truly feels like home the moment you walk in. The warm, rustic atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the service is top-notch—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming.

The food is the real star here. Every dish tastes homemade, with fresh ingredients and just the right balance of comfort and creativity. Whether it’s their perfectly cooked roast beef, buttery mashed potatoes, or seasonal desserts, everything on the menu feels thoughtfully prepared and absolutely delicious. Portions are generous without being overwhelming, and you can tell the kitchen takes pride in quality.

It’s the kind of place you want to come back to again and again—not just for the food, but for the feeling. Davidson’s isn’t just a restaurant; it’s an experience rooted in warmth, tradition, and good taste. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates real food and genuine hospitality.

Very disappointing! This place certainly has charm, but sadly that is all that's left here. Had to send escargot back as it tasted funky, 2 out of 3 couldn't eat the mussels, steak was chewy with grizzled. There was no fish of the day and no pasta. Table next to us said their food was also poor and would not come back. Serving staff should be dressed more professional. 170$ This is why i rarely dine out. Sad

Food was mediocre, items not available on menu, quite expensive for the quality. Whole place needs an upgrade!!!!

Every time I have eaten there the food is always been well presented with a personal touch that makes you feel you are important. The meal is so tasteful and I give it a 10 out of 10. Now don’t get me started on their desserts. I could go on and on. Their pecan pie is to die for and their raspberry pie wow. Dan you need to keep this jewel for a long time yet

French Onion soup I believe is one of the best I've had. Fish & Chip flakey & crispy. Steak was on the thin side but flavourful. Prices are VERY reasonable, Prime Rib is 48$. Long list of cocktails & great wines. Draft on tap as well. The atmosphere is kitschy, lots to look at. A cozy fireplace to enjoy a cocktail before dinner. Have been in business over 40yrs. Well worth the visit.
