Our Experience was Amazing!!! It was our first visit. The Manager and our Server, V were incredible. The attention, service, and food were beyond our expectations. They went above & beyond to ensure my visiting brother and his wife had a memorable 40th Anniversary. ❤️❤️ Thanks so very much!! Had a really enjoyable holiday (Canada day) lunch here! The restaurant has a classy, upscale vibe but still feels relaxed and welcoming — not too formal or intimidating. The food is definitely on the healthier side compared to other fine dining spots, and you can really taste the quality of the ingredients in every dish.

What I loved most was the Flaming Pig — such a fun and unique dish with great flavor — and the Ontario Lamb Sirloin, which was cooked perfectly and tasted like something you’d expect from a place with very high culinary standards.

We also had the Tagliatelle pasta, and something that stood out was how it stayed hot even after sitting on the table for a while. Pretty sure it’s thanks to the high-quality plates they use — a small detail, but one that really shows the thought they put into the overall experience.

The staff were amazing — super friendly, attentive, and they really knew the menu well. They were happy to explain things and offer suggestions without being pushy, which we appreciated.

One random thing I also appreciated — the soap in the bathroom! It smelled amazing and reminded me of something you’d find in a spa. Just another example of how they pay attention to the little details to create a high-standard experience from start to finish.

It was definitely a a high quality and solid dining experience.

I’m disgusted by the service at Fishbone in Barrie, located on the resort (name forgotten). From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with passive-aggressive attitudes that made it clear we weren’t welcome. The manager seemed visibly annoyed when our Black sons walked around looking for the washroom, and instead of assisting professionally, he followed them and watched them use it, doing nothing else while hovering. The food was mediocre at best, and the vibe was unwelcoming and uncomfortable the entire time. As a paying customer, I’m appalled by the treatment we received. I do not recommend this place — not for the food, not for the ambiance, and certainly not for the service.

And don’t worry — next time I’m bringing the whole hood with me so you can really see how we Black folks get down. Let’s see how you handle that energy.

We first found Fishbone during Barrie’s Winterlicious Festival last year — and had such an amazing experience that we brought friends back for a double date soon after! The service is absolutely top-notch, the menu has such creative and delicious options, and they are SO accommodating with dietary needs. We also did the wine pairing — the staff’s knowledge and attention to detail blew us away (honestly better than anywhere else we’ve been). Every dish was stunning — both in taste and presentation. A truly beautiful dining experience from start to finish!

Was standing outside waiting for my partner to see if we could come in and eat. We are writing an article about the restaurants at Friday Harbour. While waiting I was met by a staff member who told me I can’t stand outside because there are people eating as if me standing is disruptive to their meal. Get over yourself. If you don’t want people standing outside then maybe don’t set up your restaurant on a pedestrian walkway.

My significant other and I have been to Fishbone Restaurant several times now, and each visit has been nothing short of exceptional. We always find ourselves ordering the same dishes simply because they never disappoint. He gets the steak and I get the shrimp tagliatelle, perfectly prepared every time. The staff are consistently warm, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing, which really adds to the overall experience. And let’s not forget the view — the restaurant overlooks the harbour, creating a gorgeous backdrop. Definitely has become one of our go to spots whether we’re looking to celebrate something or just enjoy a good meal.

Phenomenal experience as usual. We've visited a few times over the last couple of months and are always blown away by the calibre of the food and service. Fishbone has become our go-to for a night out because we always have a fantastic experience.

Fishbone never disappoints ! We had a great time on the patio. Food was amazing and the service was fantastic.

Beautiful interior. Fantastic attentive service. Staff appear to take their role seriously. I observed their precision in setting a table nearby. Food menu is not lengthy, but not disappointed with the flavour of each item ordered. Husband's preference would maybe be for the lamb sirloin to be warmer but it was not a showstopper. PEI mussels was an average amount to eat alone as a meal or share as an appetizer. The Yellowfin tuna was refreshing and very tasty. Small portion so if you really like it, I suggest not sharing this plate!
For those accustomed to large portions and many sides, this may not be the place for you.

Fishbone in Friday Harbor is an absolute gem! I’ve been here twice, and each time has been an amazing experience. The service is outstanding—friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The food is absolutely delicious, with the paella standing out as a must-try. I highly suggest visiting this place if you’re in the area; it’s a fantastic dining experience you won’t regret.
