This is a great place to eat well. We had the poached pear salad with incredible maple dressing! Shared the turkey club with the magic bacon jam… both were incredible!! Praise to the chef and excellent service by Ed!!! Bravo and thank you! You must go!!!!

When I was first greeted by reception, I was ready to walk away. I live three hours away and since I was early, I thought I would go and check in and sign whatever paperwork was needed so I wouldn’t have to do it later in the day after my massage when my room would be available. The girl was questioning why I would come so early, told me my room had been given to a wedding party, and she then went to talk to who I think was he manager, and I could hear them mocking me for being early. And the manager rudely told her to tell me that there’s nothing available for me right now. Which wasn’t even the reason why I had gone to reception. I was in no way expecting my room at that point, so I’m not sure why I got so much attitude. Thankfully, the experience changed once I got to the spa. The staff there was so wonderful, friendly and inviting. Each person there was so knowledgable in their field. Then the rest of the day at the hotel was great. The other staff members were friendly and nice, except one person who was snobbish on the Sunday, but in general it was good. The rooms are nice and clean. It’s a beautiful hotel. I do recommend it, and will probably give it another try.

We’ve been coming here for years and over past few years, it’s gone downhill. The food is still delicious and the servers are friendly. Although the past few times we had to wait a long time before we even saw a server. When our food finally came, we didn’t get silverware or condiments. It took a very long time to get those. Our servers have always been friendly, but there are not enough of them and are not trained adequately. We’ve notice the resort is looking really sad. Very badly in need of a fresh coat of paint and new roofing. At the beach, on the dock, two of the 6 chairs were broken. It used to be such a lovely place and I don’t know why the owners have stopped caring for it. So sad to see it this way.

The food was good. Fish and chips tender and crispy.. fall off the bone ribs and had the lamb shank off the dinner menu.. just the mashed potatoes were cold... the place needs some TLC.. miss the good Olde days with the Legendary Sunday Brunch..

Tried the signature salad and the beef bourguignon and it was incredible. Service was top class as well. The building and dining areas have a lot of historic character which sets for a great tone for dinner.

A group of us ladies have been coming for several years for lunch in the bar area, usually a great time and meal. We miss the tablecloth’s, they just add a little touch of class to the dining experience. We found the soup was not served on a plate, the tea pot and cup did not have a saucer/plate either, where do we put our teaspoon? The salad was pricey for two slices of cucumber and one cherry tomato cut in half and lettuce with an oily dressing dumped on the middle of it . . . Inedible. Normally we have a great time.

For lunch, steak sandwich tasted good for best value. Fish n chips was disappointing since the batter was soggy.

Good food. Beautiful setting. Good service. Had fish and chips which was food. Ravioli was very good.

Service was fantastic, friendly and very helpful! Our server made my wife an amazing custom mocktail. We ate inside the pub area, which was comfortable and low key. Food however did not justify prices charged. Squash ravioli was tasty but small portioned. Salmon was cooked well but lacked any significant seasoning, paired with Uncle Ben's rice (or its equivalent) and steamed vegetables.

Patio is open, weather is awesome, nachos are amazing!

So so food. This bar was the main restaurant. Definitely not a four Star resort atmosphere

Food okay

The location and atmosphere is really nice, but having food served in a take out container, with plastic cutlery really ruined the experience, and the food tastes like it came out of a microwave. Covid rules aren’t an excuse because drinks were in real glasses.

A good meeting place for a drink or lunch or even afternoon coffee. Terrific cookies. The pretty casual corner of the Briar's Inn.

We enjoyed lunch here after a refreshing swim in the Briars pool. As a member I can enjoy this privilege of the pool and spa access all day long. This was my first visit to the restaurant but it won’t be my last. I had my three grandchildren aged 10, 7 and 5 and they all enjoyed choosing from the children’s menu. The Caesar salad was fresh and delicious as was the warm brownie and ice cream for their dessert. I enjoyed the vegetable curry dish. The server was very cognizant of the needs of the children bringing crayons and colouring and an extra plate for sharing. He also kept our water glasses full. The view over lake Simcoe was beautiful even on a cold winter day.
