Nonna's Lakeside - Italian Hot table & Gelateria

We have ordered from Nonna’s several times on Skip the dishes and each time it has never disappointed! The food has been amazing and the portions have been large!

I ordered a veal sandwich and 1 piece of lasagna.

It was quite expensive with the added costs of toppings for the veal sandwich (over $40 for both).

I went close to 5pm on a weekend. It was an extremely hot day and just waiting inside to order I nearly got heat stroke.

The food was decent. One of my pet peaves with lasagna is having it dry out/be dry on the top, but this one was not thankfully. I do wish sauce and Parmigiano cheese was added to the top for more flavour as it was a bit bland.

My issue was the timing of the food. I waited almost 45 minutes for my veal sandwich. I felt even more sorry for the employees working there. The heat inside the facility was unbearable. The facility really needs to have a working A/C unit. I thought the employee taking the orders was going to faint. Due to the heat, she could remember orders and I could see her struggling with heat stress as well.

Please set up your establishment with proper temperature controls. We couldn't eat inside or outside due to the weather and had to drive the food home which was over 25 minutes away. 😑

The food was great, as my kids said it was the best pasta and lasagna they've ever had. That being said, it's a bit too expensive in my opinion. I understand it's a tourist type location and very well loved and reviewed, but the prices could be a little more reasonable.
Also, there was no AC inside and even the worker was complaining about how she was boiling and couldn't even think straight. She was honestly at risk of a heat stroke probably. Maybe their unit was broken, not sure, but this was during the heat wave and it was probably 40C inside.

It's always amazing at Nona's the food is authentic and homemade! It's always a friendly smile when walking in. It's a hidden gem in Jacksons point/Sutton! Don't be fooled by the small space. We have never had a bad experience!

As a bar restaurant in my favourite place( unionville) it was ok in everything, food was yummy and our server was nice too, just they forgot to bring us our appetizer for about 15 minutes but later when it came was very delicious

Use to be really good. Unfortunately not very good last few times. Not fully cooked, raw egg in spaghetti Carbonara, missing most of the meat in the Penne Alla Vodka. The pizza was very good. Not worth the price.

First time at this little bistro. I asked for the lightly breaded chicken breast filet with a few red peppers to go and it was quite lovely! A hint of lemon flavour coming from the chicken and a hint of spice coming from the red peppers. Very light yet filling. Didn’t pay as much as I would have at Vince’s or Longo’s either ! Thank you for the friendly service and delicious food !

We really enjoyed the stone bake oven Margarita and Pepperoni Pizzas we ordered! And the Veal Sandwich was incredible also! I highly recommend this cute family owned Sutton restaurant. They also have a cute patio where you could enjoy Gelato as well as many coffee/latte options! - Great for summer dates!

Parking: Parking is located to the left of the restaurant but you can also park right out front the store front

We ordered the mac & cheese, the meat balls, as well as the lasagna.

All of them were delicious, and the lady at the counter was very sweet.
