Parking: It's on Hwy7 and Granville turnoff. It's a decent rest stop. The bathrooms may not be clean always. This time, the Subway bathrooms were closed ..

This place is an absolute joke. We frequently go between peterborough and ottawa and the number of times we have pulled in here to get gas, use the washroom and grab a snack and they haven't had gas and the washrooms are "out of order" is unbelievable. I'm not sure how they think they can run a gas station/ subway like this, but it's an absolute joke. When the staff are asked if there is another washroom, they say no. My husband asked them what they do for their shifts and he was told they hold it. Absolutely unbelievable, stop in Madoc and avoid this location competently!

The door was rather dilapidated, so we were skeptical it was open at all, but it was!
The sign on the door says that the restroom is out of order. It turns out it's a bit of a ploy because the female restroom is indeed out of order, but the male restroom is not. This can be confusing for the males who need relief.
Another plot twist! Maybe it's not a ploy, but more of a lapse from the staff. Why? Because you need to spend money (aka customers only) in order to use the restroom.
So I decided to buy a meatball marinara to gain access to the restroom. The staff member was very nice and suggested a cookie would be good enough, which would be because it'd be a lot cheaper. However, for a couple of days, I've been dreaming of meatball marinara, so I stuck with my decision.
Food 3/5: the meatballs looked dry; it seems they don't meet their daily quota, so they don't refresh their food. I had a bad belly ache overnight. I'm not sure if it's Subway or something else.
Service 5/5: the staff was nice and polite and provided good advice (the cookie).
Atmosphere 2/5: looks dilapidated from the outside, and some of the windows are covered with paper. Not a clean feel.

Bought dinner here on a quick pitstop during a long drive. Sandeep provided my family and I with exceptional service. He was very friendly and did a superb job preparing our subs. Top tier Subway experience, would recommend to anyone driving by!

Service was incredibly slow. The younger gentleman working behind the counter moved at a glacial pace while garnishing subs and wrapping them. Then... he slowed even more while ringing in my purchase.
Meanwhile, the line kept growing and people were grumbling. Maybe give the awesome other employee an electric cattle prod to poke him with so he'll speed it up.

Literally the worst customer service I’ve ever encountered. We were in line for the bathroom because everything else in an hour drive was closed (EVERYTHING) so we were desperate. Someone comes out and says they’re out of toilet paper, and when we went to ask for some, the worker refused to refill it at all because *other people* had come in to use it and didn’t buy anything that day. We said that we needed to pee and wanted to get lunch, it was just urgent. She ignored us. DO NOT STOP HERE. They deserve to be as out of business as everything else.
Hope your 25 cents of toilet paper was worth missing out on a 50 dollar sandwich order. Subway corporate, take note - this is a terrible store.
