We had a group of 23 have a lunch at Salamanders and I have to say this was one of the absolute best choices I've ever made ever! I live in Australia so navigating finding a space to host my mom's memorial was tricky. Other places looked either loud, wouldn't answer my questions, made me feel like I was annoying them for asking basic questions or had pricey set menus. We had mostly older attendees plus a couple kids so everyone needed to be able to choose what they wanted (but they can do a set menu or limited options for your guests if you want - literally whatever works for you, they will do!) Leeanne (unsure if I spelled that right) was SUCH a delight. She answered all my questions, and so quickly! Through fb messenger she sent me photos, offered helpful suggestions, etc. She set the space up perfectly - the function space can accomodate 40+ but she made it feel perfect for 23, making space to stand and chat, and space to sit and a kids colouring nook! Gorgeous view of the river, and in warmer months you can use the patio for over flow. Restrooms in the space but off to the side. A bar in the space too but they also did Table service. The food was Delicious and beautifully presented. My almost 2yr old needed to run a bit and the staff were so calm as I handled her exuberant moments. The ease and kindness from Leeann was absolutely fantastic!. If I ever need a space for a group of any size in this area we will Always choose Salamanders. Thank you So So much!

Our group of 19 had a lovely dining experience at Salamanders last week. The staff is always very helpful in planning for our large group. Our skilled waiter, Joel, was very attentive and served us all in a timely manner. Kudos to the kitchen staff for preparing our delicious dinners!

Great service, friendly staff, delicious food. Patio with waterfront river view. Music on weekends. Wheelchair accessible via waterfront entrance off the patio. Drivable ramp , off the street to the bridge, to patio level. The washroom fits a wheelchair. However, the large waste basket needs to be removed first.

Wheelchair accessibility: Parking for wheelchair users is down the ramp beside the patio. The restaurant is only wheelchair accessible if the driving Ramp is open. Ramp only drivable before the snow starts and after it's done for the season. The ramp is controlled by the municipality not the restaurant. If they could they would maintain it. The owners and staff are wonderful.

A wonderful restaurant, owned and operated locally. Amazing salads, entrees and desserts. Thank you to Leanne and staff for this amazing Kemptville gem.

Terrible service, excellent food.
Our waitress (older lady with white hair) was the most unfriendly person I have ever met. A smile goes a long way. This waitress never once checked in on us, we ended up having to walk to the bar to get a drink even after saying "excuse me miss" multiple times. We asked for water when we first arrived and after 15 minutes of waiting we had to ask the kitchen lady for water (she was super friendly) We also had to go to the bar to pay our bill. We ordered nachos with modifications and when we got them it was made wrong (no problem, mistakes happen) the waitress never even apologized and didn't even tell us she would have the kitchen make up another batch , just grabbed the plate, said okay and walked away in a huff. I have never had such terrible service in my life. Waitress lacked common manners like "you're welcome", never smiled and had such an attitude. Fortunately the food was excellent. We spent over 100$ for 2 of us on a lunch date, I expected at least common courtesy. Due to the service I don't think I would go back or recommend to anyone. Servers are the face of your establishment and some people are meant to work in the back.

Beautiful night on the patio with live music! It was fully booked (good thing we had a reservation!) but the service was good, food was fresh from the kitchen and everyone seemed to be enjoying the evening!

Disappointed with my dinner this time around, had jumbalia a few weeks ago and loved it this visit had it again and it was almost inedible no taste at all just tomato paste some sausage and chicken (not even one piece of shrimp). I was there with 6 other people and picked up the bill and even after informing my water that it was not good it was still on the bill I picked up… very disappointing that after putting out over 200 for dinner you are stoping at Wendy’s on your way home.
