BoatHouse Reviews
Visited BoatHouse on August 29, 2025 with a party of 5. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The server was slow and inattentive. I ordered the Seafood Fra Diavolo. I also requested some tabasco. After waiting for 10 minutes it was finally brought to the table in a small ramekin.
Upon reviewing our bill I noticed at the bottom there was a charge of $1.50 for the tabasco. I asked the server about this charge. She curtly informed me it was restaurant policy. Well that certainly...read full review
Last summer my wife and I stopped here while travelling across the country from AB to NL.
Right now I am doing the same and literally planned my days around being able to stop here for lunch! I have not stopped talking about the lobster dip since last year lol (I’m a little obsessed🤣) It was as good as I remembered!
The outdoor patio, the lake, the food, everything is amazing!
10/10 would recommend! You HAVE to eat here!
If I could give Boathouse a 10 star review, I would. My co-workers and I were in Kenora on business and it was recommended that we go to the newly owned Boathouse - Lakeside Grill. BoatHouse offers delicious food with amazing service in Kenora. The restaurant features a perfect view from the window seats and an outdoor patio that enhances the dining experience. Guests have praised the excellent food, including the prime rib sandwich, the burger, and the Pickerel (Walleye) dinner, as well as the famous lobster dip, which has been a highlight for returning customers. The food has received high praise, with dishes like the halibut, also known as Captain’s Catch, being outstanding. A standout dessert mentioned by many is the crème brûlée, which has become a topic of conversation for its deliciousness. The kids’ menu includes a nice ice-cream dessert, adding a pleasant touch. While some found the prices a bit high, most agree the food is worth it. Service is generally professional and attentive, with efforts seen in food presentation. However, some guests experienced slow and inattentive service, and there was a concern about a $1.50 charge for Tabasco on a Seafood Fra Diavolo, which negatively impacted their experience. The bar manager and staff are recognized for making visits memorable, and thanks to new management, the place remains clean with improved food quality. BoatHouse is a must-visit spot in Kenora for a delightful dining experience.
