Phenomenal dining experience. Pete and the team at The Boathouse were amazing. The food was fantastic. We had the seared scallops, wedge salad, and the Pickerel (Walleye) dinner. Everything was perfectly cooked and tasted absolutely spectacular. Definitely a must in the Kenora area. Thanks again for the outstanding dining experience.

Visited Kenora this weekend and had such a wonderful time at this restaurant. Nathan made sure our experience here was awesome. Great food, great drinks. Awesome Ceasers. Thanks to Christie for taking our orders and serving us. Will definitely go back. Keep up the good service. Fort Frances Gang!

We hosted our rehearsal dinner here and had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, and the setup and service were both excellent—everything ran smoothly and felt well-coordinated. The standout of the evening was definitely the crème brûlée for dessert—everyone was talking about it! Highly recommend for a special occasion.

Great Atmosphere, Great food except onion soup was made with a processed cheese slice, reasonn for 4 stars, instead of 5.
Kitchen prepared all food exceptional well, just took long time to do it. Waiting staff could use a little more guidance on keeping tabs on guests n times...we waited 1hr for a seat on patio, as hostess n water forgot we came for a meal.

My husband and I went to this restaurant on September 7/2025. Our waitress Tara was very nice and friendly and asked all of our questions. The view was absolutely amazing. The food was delicious she even suggested that I have the lobster mac&cheeese. The atmosphere was very nice and they have reasonable prices. We were also greeted by a very nice man outside. We would recommend this place anytime.

My first time here and I was really looking forward to an amazing experience based on the reviews. My daughter loved her food and the burger the waiter recommended was good. The lobster bisque, however smelled spoilt. He politely took it back and it was replaced without the cream, which they indicated might have been spoiled. I smelled it and tasted it but it was clear that the bisque itself was spoiled. I didn't want the waiter to take it back but just couldn't eat it. I informed him it was spoiled and should not be served again today. I really hope this listened. Maybe it was just me...but the top had started bubbling after sitting on the table for a while. Which is clear indication of spoiled seafood. I'm mostly disappointed that I was still charged for this, when thought came with the meal as it was listed as possible side items. My daughter and I could have gotten food poisoning. Everything else was ok. I left and really didn't want to argue with anyone about anything.

Riding through Kenora last week with a buddy. Booked a last minute reso on a Friday night. Expected it to be expensive as their online menu doesn’t list prices. We wanted to sit on the patio and found they have two. One white tablecloth service as expected and another more layback with couches and a bar top overlooking the water. We chose the second as I preferred the vibe. A little light Reggie playing in the background. I asked if the had the same menus here as the main restaurant and upscale patio. The guy managing this area said they could accommodate that as they weren’t too busy, although the other patio certainly was jammed. Ordered some salads and mains. They brought us a wine list from the main restaurant which isn’t usually available in the area we chose to sit. The service was great, food came when it should. The manager was friendly and when I got the bill I was surprised by how reasonable it was. I read other reviews before writing this. Seems they’re either hot or frigid. Seems weird. Perhaps it depends on what shift you get. I’m guessing that the newer owners will address this. Our experience was 9/10. Considering the price, 10/10

We were there about 4pm and the wait time was very long and our food took very long to come out. They have a kids menu, but didn't have ones available for us to view so the thoughtful staff member had to run over a piece of paper with the kids menu scribbled on to it. We then ordered a few dishes with a side of fries, but they appeared to be leftover deep fried crumbs/tiny potato pieces. Bottom of a bag perhaps? Finally, the bathrooms seem to be partially neglected.
All other thoughts aside though, the staff members were very friendly and tried their best to be accommodating as they could be.

Went to enjoy an evening dinner and was looking forward to the menu during the long weekend.
Unfortunately as soon as we arrived we were notified they were short staffed. Not a problem, we weren't in a rush and understand during the long weekend.
However, our patience ran out after 45 minutes of waiting for our server. 45 minutes of waiting and a server never came to our table to even take a drink order.
What was evening more peculiar is the server in our area served tables in front, behind and beside ours but never approached our table. This included tables that arrived after us.
A very weird experience. I'm a patient person but being completely ignored was a first.
We left after a total of 50 minutes in the establishment and never being served.

Visited BoatHouse on August 29, 2025 with a party of 5. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The server was slow and inattentive. I ordered the Seafood Fra Diavolo. I also requested some tabasco. After waiting for 10 minutes it was finally brought to the table in a small ramekin. Upon reviewing our bill I noticed at the bottom there was a charge of $1.50 for the tabasco. I asked the server about this charge. She curtly informed me it was restaurant policy. Well that certainly negatively impacted my tip. I find it offensive to be charged an additional $1.50 for a $33 meal. If this is your policy, I suggest you change this as there are other restaurant options available in Kenora one can go to.
