A couple of days ago I stopped into Bar Down in Kincardine to grab wings for my best friend as takeout, and I have to say, they were absolutely incredible! Perfectly cooked, sauced just right, and packed with flavor – hands down some of the best wings . The portions were generous, fresh, and clearly made with care.
The service was just as impressive as the food. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and quick to get everything packaged up perfectly so it stayed hot and fresh all the way home. It really makes a difference when you can tell the team takes pride in what they’re serving and how they treat their customers.
Whether you’re grabbing a bite in the restaurant or picking up takeout like I did, Bar Down is a go-to spot in Kincardine. Great atmosphere, great people, and food that always hits the mark. Already looking forward to coming back and trying more from the menu – but those wings will definitely be a repeat order!

The straws were plastic which I adore! The Buffalo shrimp is to DIE FOR!!!!!!! I come all the way from Waterloo to get the shrimp! You need to have it once in your life!!! Love this place!

Be prepared to wait for a while. We came one night, young server told us it’s hell in the kitchen and we can be seated only in 20 minutes or so and then it will take some time to get the meal. I was starving so we went somewhere else. Next day they told us the same thing but we were willing to wait to be seated. Finally sat down, got our drinks and decided on what to order, but our server was nowhere to be found. Eventually had to grab one of the other waitresses on a patio, told her what we wanted. We waited for over an hour, our server didn’t check on us during this time by the way. We are not locals so we just thought that that’s how it is in smaller towns - nobody is in the rush. But it got pretty obvious that they forgot about us. We went inside to find our server and it turns out, they didn’t put our order in the system, so we just waited for nothing. Oooh, we were pissed. The girl apologized to us; saying that the other girl is not even supposed to take orders, she is just a floor helper. Anyway, we got our food after that conversation but I would NEVER go back to that place. It wasn’t even that busy when we came, it was totally doable for the stuff to make sure we were taken care of. But they rarely checked on us and most of their employees are very young and inexperienced.
Their service is always amazing. Food is great. A positive atmosphere, always a good choice when choosing to go out. And relax, eat or just go for mic night. I give five stars
