my brother has extreme anxiety, specifically social anxiety. he has a huge fear of confrontation and talking to strangers, so today when me and my family came to the restaurant and my brother was eating a doughnut inside we were both asked to leave as we had outside food. normally I would understand this, but we had just gotten 20$ worth of other food and drinks so this one doughnut didn’t feel that outrageous to me. boy was I wrong. Me and my brother both went outside to wait for my mother and when she came out the woman from before was with her, asking me and my brother if she was rude to us. when I told her that she was she asked again, expecting a different answer that I didn’t give to her. she claimed that my brother didn’t look upset so clearly he wasn’t, but you could tell just from looking at him how uncomfortable and upset he was. he did say that everything was fine but not because it was fine, because she was scared into saying that it was by the employee standing over him. my brother cried the entire way home, telling my mother how sorry he was for causing the whole situation. a simple apology would have been fine, but instead she chose to yell at us on the street about how she was right and we weren’t.

I actually loved this place until today, when my son brought in a doughnut from Best Friends, as they don’t sell doughnuts, and we spent $20 worth of food and drink as well. We have done this multiple times, but we usually sat outside. But today it was raining and I thought nothing of it, as I was in on Monday and saw a gentleman bring in an outside muffin. The barista threw my teenagers out because of the doughnut. I said that was fine, but I wouldn’t be back as I felt this was out of pocket. The barista continued to debate me about how “every restaurant has this policy” (I recently moved here and I’ve never encountered a coffee shop that banned a doughnut if you purchased food and drink from that establishment) and she offered to refund when I said I would take what I paid for. I said I felt she was rude to my son, who fled in tears, and the barista went outside and berated my teenagers to get them to say she was nice to them. This had been my favourite coffee shop since moving to Kincardine, but I won’t be returning. Customer service goes a long way, and berating someone after they’ve said they will just take their order and leave and belittling two teenagers on the street, one who was terrified by the verbal assault, is just uncalled for.

Nothing but great praise for every aspect of this business, and wonderful for me to hear that gorgeous Geordie accent (someone from the north-east of England, typically from Newcastle-on-Tyne).

Everything from The Daily Grind is the highest quality.

All of their treats, from their freshly-made specialty coffees and teas, to their sandwiches and savoury pies, to their sinful baked goods (caramel shortbread is irresistible) are fantastic.

The staff are always friendly and helpful. When we go in with any visitors to town, the baristas patiently help them to select something delicious.

The decor inside is cozy, clean and comfortable, and the patio out front is a great place to see people going past on the main street.

Having to stop in town for a bit, I needed a pick me up and went down to the downtown area for a coffee.

The location was super clean and I loved the moss decor and pieces on the walls, even within the table!

However, the food was honestly just okay. The millionaires shortbread was a bit on the underside and the chocolate top was not a good temper with a soft snap. The dirty chai was also very heavy on the nutmeg and drowned out any note of tea in there.

The service was great but also the barista was more along the back and it would have been nice if there was some bell at the front rather than waiting.

Overall, a good place to work away but needs some more time to finesse its recipes!

We needed a coffee early afternoon while visiting Kincardine.
The Grind had a large crowd on the patio so in we went.
They serve Shop Bike Coffee from Bayfield, great coffee that I have had many times
I love the the Guatemalan.
Smooth with enough of a caffeine kick that meets our checklist.
Coffee is two things when done right: a boost and an aromatic cup of Heaven.
The shop is filled with cool moss and driftwood art pieces that are unusual, unique and beautiful.
The staff are delightful, and free parking along the street.
Lots of tasty baked goods to go with your coffee if you so desire.
We’ll be back!

Went on a family bike ride to the Daily Grind where it cost approximately $30. The $30 was for 4 drinks including a burnt flat white and three Italian sodas that were described as tasting like lettuce. We then spent a moment shopping close by and when we returned to our bikes that were parked out front, the owner had left a nasty note about our bikes being parked there. They claimed that the bikes were blocking the sidewalk sign and therefore nobody could know that they were open. I’m sure the lack of traffic is due to the crappy coffee and not three bikes blocking the sidewalk sign. Save your $$. Go anywhere else.

I’ve never had a drink here I don’t love, especially their caramel macchiato. Cozy place to catch up with friends or get some work done (although they don’t have wifi). I visit this cafe every time I visit Kincardine

Cute bakery in Kincardine ! Street parking available. Workers are polite and personable. A little expensive but it is a bit of a nicer place. Had a lot of great bakery/ snack items. I don't think we saw any type of breakfast sandwiches available. They had a variety of coffees and warm drinks. Didn't realize they also had cold drinks. But there is a small sign by the cash register with the cold drinks that they sell. Good products. Seating indoors and outdoors. Cute and would come back

Best coffee shop in the area with meat pies, sandwiches, soup and snacks. Lots of indoor seating and a few outdoor seats in the summer. Right in the heart of Kincardine. Love this place!!
