We stopped for a meal at El Rancho tonight. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the service was friendly. Unfortunately, as we waited at the bar for our table to be ready, the service was extremely slow. This is not the first time we've experienced slow service at the bar here. We enjoy El Rancho, but they need to figure out speedier service at the bar

Have eaten here a few times, but the quality has gone down, especially the last two visits. I will not be giving this place another try, especially after the most recent disappointing experience.
Firstly, the service was abysmal. The waiter couldn't explain the difference between carnitas and al pastor (told us that al pastor has a funnel cake texture??), couldn't give me a straight answer about whether or not the sauces contained dairy, and was too busy in conversation with employees at the bar to provide anything close to a decent service. It felt like we were a bother just to have our order corrected after he had forgotten to bring our salsa. It seemed as if he didn't care to be there.
The food itself was awful. I gave it a two-star rating because of the previous times we came when the food used to be delicious. Unfortunately, it seems to have taken a turn for the worst.
This time around, the tortilla chips were drenched in oil, and were nearly burnt. The salsa tasted like it came straight from a can of crushed tomatoes. We had ordered the pescadillas appetizers; not only did they manage to burn the filling, but they were left in the oil for way too long. Dark brown tortilla shells that were drenched in oil, hard and tasted terrible.
The tacos were alright, but did not taste fresh like previous times. The al pastor tasted dry and the rice with the dinner plate tasted stale/old.

We were just in town to grab a few groceries when we stoped here for lunch. I was so impressed with how delicious the food was, the portions were huge, the sauce and hot sauces were amazing, 10 out of 10 would recommend this place to anyone. We were just visiting from Alberta and I already want to travel back just so I can eat here again.

We were sat right at the reception area at a low table. It felt like we were at a “children’s table” since we were surrounded by high tops and barstools and that everyone coming in could see us eating. The service was meh. Not very engaging. And the atmosphere seemed plain. I was not getting any rancho vibes, still searching for its identity. The complimentary salsa and chips were good. We ordered corona cero and jarritos lime with the asada, taco dinner and chicken flautas. The tacos were what you expected but if you wanted cheese you had to pay extra. The rice was not good. It tasted like rancid oil. They had a range of tequilas to choose from like Hornitos, casamigos, clase azul and 1942, which were all typical of LCBO selection. Overall the food was decent, affordable. The price for the taco dinner should have been less since you’re basically paying 5$ for a tiny cup of rice and beans, better to get another taco for that price or just have three tacos as the portions are decent. It wasn’t horrible, just a few things that need improvement to make it a more memorable experience for people to want to come back.
