We can't go to the museum without going to the restaurant. It's that good!
We took a short break at the Cabin Café in the main lobby while visiting the McMichael Art Gallery.
The space is bright and airy, making it a pleasant spot to rest during the visit. The pastries were good as well—simple and enjoyable. A nice place to recharge before continuing through the gallery.

It is hard to imagine a more rustic Canadian setting than the McMichael Gallery in Kleinberg. I am a huge fan of the collection and also of the numerous and varied special exhibits which they bring through the gallery.
Besides the collection, the beautiful fieldstone encrusted log cabin, which the gallery is housed in is a treasure for Toronto. On this occasion, we stopped in for a coffee at the Cabin Café located in the main atrium of the building.
The café has very favourable opening hours and makes wonderful use of the space available in the main atrium.
We were seated adjacent to the large, forest facing windows, and on this snowy December day it was an absolute winter wonderland.
As I have said in other reviews, I don't believe it is fair to hold a restaurant to the same standard of coffee excellence that small specialty coffee shops obtain. My coffee here was hot and flavorful, and the service was excellent .
This is north of Toronto at its finest in the winter and absolutely a destination which can be enhanced with the coffee and a chat.

We had a company event for Christmas, and the food and drinks were fantastic as well as the service. Everything ran smoothly, was as expected and was fairly priced.

The place has a nice atmosphere, but the food didn’t quite meet my expectations. The “tuna salad” seemed to be on a quest to find its tuna — just a few leaves of arugula, a couple of olives, and a lonely slice of egg.
The dessert was beautifully decorated… but vanished in two bites! A charming presentation, though I left wishing for a bit more substance.

We spent the morning touring the gorgeous gallery, enjoying every part of it. We determined lunch would be at The Cabin Restaurant. Three of us ordered the Cobb Salad. Disappointing at best. A scant amount of pre-cooked plumped chicken, a small boiled egg, a little bit of blue cheese and a dollop of mashed avocado with a tiny amount of unrecognizable dressing, but they did top it off with a fair amount of bacon. For $24, they need to try harder. One person ordered the Tuna Niçoise which is called that for the small, specific Niçoise olives, sadly replaced by Queen, pimento stuffed olives. The seared fresh tuna looked good, all in all, the Niçoise is better value than the sad Cobb.
Service was good, and the espressos and cappuccino were great.

This restaurant is in the Mc Micheal Art Gallery. A very airy, bright and clean establishment. Prices and portions are reasonable and the service is very quick. A nice way to finish or start your day at the gallery.

We stopped in for lunch during a gallery visit and were delighted by the excellent food and wonderful service from Judith. Despite it being a busy day at the gallery and restaurant, we were seated promptly and our drinks, appetizers and meals came along at an efficient pace — no rushing, but just exactly as they should. We really enjoyed chatting with Judith and will definitely be back soon.

The food was good. The service awful. My wife and I ordered lunch. She was served. I was not. I had to track down the server. She said the meal would be discounted, acting as if she was doing us a favour. She took 50% off my burger. Then looking at my bill she had charged for 3 burgers. A further wait ensued. Foolishly I left a tip. This woman appeared to be the manager. The other staff seem to be trainees who are better at bussing tables than interacting with guests. The food was good.

We popped into the small cafe at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection in Kleinburg, in the city of Vaughan, Ontario, Canada, on an afternoon the other day after a three-hour tour of the gallery. The space was fine - with big windows offering good views of the Humber River Valley.
We had avocado toast, chopped salad and chocolate brownie with coffee. They also have truffle grilled cheese, smoked fish toast and cabin cheeseburger.
The service was warm and relaxed - perfect for a slow afternoon between gallery strolls.

The Avacado Toast was pricey, but quite good. I was genuinely surprised by how bad the brewed coffee was, though. I'm not a coffee snob, but this was like a watered-down cheap coffee, brewed yesterday, and then microwaved.
Arrived at the Gallery at noon, to be warned that the restaurant was closing soon, due to a private event.
Disappointed that they were all out of samosas.

We were very disappointed that the Cabin restaurant closed at 1pm, exactly at the time of our arrival, even though it was supposed to stay open all afternoon. We had come with our friends and were hoping to eat lunch before exploring the collections, as there is no other other restaurant on site. The restaurant was closed for a private function, but this was not made clear to us when we bought the tickets, nor was there an announcement on the website on the day itself.
Veeeerrrryy good food. Surprising for a museum to be honest. Everything ordered was great quality and tasty. Staff are also friendly and quick
