Popped out to Komoka for some blood work and had a craving for a burger. So I placed an order online for a burger, fries and slaw (oh and of course, butter tarts to go). I was definitely not disappointed! My Bacon, Swiss, Mushroom Burger was delicious and a generous size! It was flavoured with a hint of garlic, fresh sautéed mushrooms and served on a fresh brioche style bun. Included was a generous portion of perfectly cooked French Fries along with their delicious coleslaw. Five stars ⭐️ in my mind!
I always enjoyed Little Beaver pies. My family enjoys pie more than cake so we usually celebrate birthdays with pie. I recently ordered three and when we went to pick them up, they did not have our order. We showed email confirmation and payment confirmation. The girl working was very apologetic but there was nothing they could do. Took our information with the promise of a callback from the owner. Two days later, we contacted them as we did not hear back. Apparently they have no contact information for the owner and the only way to get ahold of them is through the website. Come on. The order now shows as completed. So we are wasting all this time and energy trying to get a refund. I’ve never had a place not even try to correct such a mistake on their end. Too bad they are slowly destroying this restaurant’s legacy.
Great food, and more than you need. Upon leaving our waitress gave me some napkins when i purchased butter tarts saying that ‘they don’t usually get all the way home’! She was right they didn’t get home 😁
We had not been back to the Little Beaver for about 5 years because the food was always very cool/cold...with the A/C blowing right over your head/table! Unfortunately things haven't changed...but many people still go there...so they must not care about getting their food warm/hot!?! The menu doesn't offer children a selection for breakfast suited to their size...so what they order is very large portions only and the food ends up being wasted!! Shame! It will certainly be a long time before returning!!!
Pleasant experience, basic food, great server, amazing pies. Welcome and friendly throughout, venue is showing some wear. We had a turkey sandwich, which is what it was; whole wheat bread by choice, 2 mini slices of nice turkey and a sm piece of lettuce, that was it! Caesar salad with buffalo chicken patty, grilled not available. Then came the pies, coconut cream and pecan, both large and excellent.
Friendly service.
Well what can I say other than disappointed and unhappy with a horrible experience. Used to frequent the original Beaver at least once a week when the food portions were plenty with good homemade quality , wow how things have changed and not for the better . My wife and I both ordered 1 piece fish & chips and our grandson got the kids meal hotdog that he wouldn't even eat because it tasted like a dryed out reboiled piece of meat with cold fries, good thing he likes ice cream. The 2 orders of fish & chips was probably the worst we have ever had, no homecut fries anymore, which used be the best, and the fish size was probably smaller than the kids portion that a believe was a prebattered frozen piece that you could buy at a local grocery store ,the portion of overcooked frozen fries was no more than the kids meal. I asked the waitress where the coleslaw and fresh bun were and she replied they were out of coleslaw , and didn't serve buns anymore. she replied we got extra fries. Haha what a joke for the price we paid, I totally understand things have changed but what an unfortunate choice of place to eat, should have gone to McDonald's like my wife suggested, would have been better and cheaper !!!!
We hadn't been to this restaurant in quite some time and I can honestly say we will never go back. Between a very unfriendly female server to the worst food I have ever seen delivered on a plate, this was truly an awful experience. I had an omelet and side of sausage. Omelet was dried out and overcooked, some of the hashbrowns were either undercooked or fried to a crisp and tasted like there was chemicals in them. The sausage, wow, I can't even properly describe, they were cut in half lengthwise and burned terribly and I'm positive there was no pork or even meat in it. I honestly cannot get over how anyone would let that be served to a customer. I now see from many of the reviews above, many are having similar experiences. Also, when we let our server know, she was rude and wanted to argue with us, like what the ????? Such a shame as this used to be a wonderful family restaurant with superb food and service. New owners need to get their *&^% together or they will end up closed for good.
There was good portions and friendly service. Can’t ask for much more for breakfast. Reasonably priced. Nothing amazing in terms of decor but it’s a perfectly serviceable option.
It’s not my type of restaurant I like very disappointed in the decor of restaurant. The food was ok the service was awesome. However just not my cup of tea.

I have been going to the Beaver since I was a kid, over 40 years. Good food for a good price means you overlook the shared tables, busy waitresses so not top notch service. They no longer have fresh cut fries! Crappy, frozen fast food fries don't cut it for a homestyle restaurant. I get things are more expensive but when you cut food quality, service still sucks and prices are the same as everywhere else I don't see why I would go back.
Because of Covid it has been two years since we ordered. Had a takeout order of Liver and Onions. It was delicious but small portion and price is now $21.00. Hardly any onions, two small scoops of mash potatoes and small portion of veggies. Ordered a side order of coleslaw for $2.00 and the portion size was about two tablespoons. Very disappointed.
Dropped by the Beaver for lunch and we were disappointed this trip. No more fresh cut fries, no more fritters in their baked goods cupboards and their omelettes, which used to be fluffy, moist and hot, were flat, dry and cold.
I went with my daughter and a friend. She ordered the meatloaf from the senior menu with mashed potatoes. The potatoes were cold, the portion of meatloaf was about two bites. I ordered the haddock & chips. The fish was in a batter that was so hard I had to peel it off to get to the fish. Even though she sent her dish back to have it reheated it came back warm. She sent it back again and ordered something else.
We've been to the Beaver a few times since Covid hit and we were told they changed their fries to frozen from fresh cut due to Covid. Now that Covid is basically over, PLEASE bring back your fresh cut fries.
