Went in to celebrate my daughters 25 birthday. My 80 year old mother, my 60 year old sister, my 24 year old son and daughter of course 25. Ate our meal, she was enjoying her “sandpail” drink after we ate. It turned 9:00, the manager came to the table and “demanded” to see my kids ID. Even I was violated with the manager’s demeanor. We didn’t understand his abusive behaviour and obviously questioned why he was acting the way he was. He then grabbed my daughter’s drink, and attempted to take it away from her. We all got defensive, suddenly he had his hands on her attempting to physically throw her out. The entire restaurant was watching this manager full on assault my daughter for refusing to show her ID AFTER she was served and nearly finished her drink. Read the table buddy!!! That was it, a full-on bar fight erupted. Even a man from the table beside us jumped in to defend her. Completely un-called for behaviour from this employee. My daughter had minor surgery the day before, this bully employee threw her out onto the sidewalk. I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCE SO MUCH DISRESPECT IN A PUBLIC PLACE IN MY LIFE!!!! This manager needs to be fired!!! Get rid of this idiot before he causes a law-suit for you!!! 😡😡😡😡😡
Lovely staff. Food was ok.

Our first time here and I will be back! We popped in for a few apps and were pleasantly surprised! The atmosphere was fun. Our server was Abby and she was so great. She was friendly and had a smile on the entire time. I had the chicken fingers and fries and they came with 5 dipping sauces! FIVE!
Overall a great experience and I look forward to going back!

Picture this: you’re fresh off the golden sands of Grand Bend, Lake Huron sparkling like it’s ready for its Hollywood close-up, and you saunter into Willie’s Beach Bar. It’s got flamingo flair, cocktails with more personality than a reality TV star, and a burger that could inspire sonnets. I rolled in with my crew expecting a chill beachside feast, but what we got was a gloriously chaotic, laugh-out-loud adventure stickier than a rom-com plot. Grab your sunscreen and your sense of humor—here’s my take on Willie’s Beach Bar.
Let’s start with the wins, because Willie’s brings some serious heat. Our waiter, Chris, was a hydration superhero, keeping our cups fuller than a kid’s candy bag on Halloween. Thirsty? Not on Chris’s watch. He was zipping around with a grin that could charm a grumpy seagull, ensuring our drinks never ran dry. The fish tacos? Pretty darn tasty, with a coleslaw topping that deserves its own TikTok dance. And the guacamole portions? They were so generous I thought they were trying to set a world record for avocado abundance. Gluten-free folks, you’re in luck—they’ve got options that don’t taste like sadness. The location is pure magic, right off the beach with sunset views that could make a lighthouse jealous. And the real MVP? A sweet Jenga game and Connect 4 setup that had us howling like we were competing for the Board Game Olympics gold medal.
But, oh, Willie’s, you’re wilder than a seagull stealing fries. The music was LOUD—capital L, capital OUD. I’m talking “did I sign up for a meal or a rave?” loud. I couldn’t hear my buddy’s hot gossip over the bass, and I’m pretty sure I accidentally agreed to run a marathon because I couldn’t make out a word anyone said. It was like dining inside a speaker at a metal concert. Then there’s the saga of Lewis and the Missing Fork. Poor Lewis was left staring at his salad like it was a cryptic riddle, forkless and forlorn. We had to flag down Chris—mid-hydration heroics—to score a fork, turning Lewis’s salad into a dramatic quest for cutlery. The table itself? Stickier than a popsicle in a microwave. We had to play janitor and wipe it down ourselves, which felt like an impromptu team-building exercise. And the tacos? My taco-ordering crew grumbled that the portions were so small they needed a magnifying glass to find them. Tasty, sure, but more like a snack for a particularly peckish seagull.
Despite the shenanigans, Willie’s Beach Bar is like that one friend who throws legendary parties but forgets the basics—like forks. The vibe is pure beach-party chaos, with pink flamingos and disco energy that screams “taco fever dream.” I overheard another table losing their minds over the Greek fries, and the Willie Burger sounds like it could headline its own Netflix special. Just don’t come expecting a quiet chat—unless your idea of a chat involves yelling over music that could wake a hibernating bear. Oh, and keep your phone close; I caught wind of dance floor pickpockets, adding a spicy “dinner with a side of spy thriller” vibe.
In the end, Willie’s is a hilarious, high-energy hotspot if you can handle its quirks. Snag a patio seat early (they vanish faster than free Wi-Fi), dive into those fish tacos (small but mighty), and savor the guac that could feed a small army. Just pack your own fork, some earplugs, and maybe a megaphone for table talk. I’d go back in a heartbeat to crush Chris at Jenga and soak in those Lake Huron views. Four stars for the vibes, the views, and the sheer audacity of it all—just don’t expect a full-sized taco or a fork without a fight.

My granddaughter and I drove to Grand Bend for an outing. It wasn’t a great beach day so we had lunch at Willie’s. Upon entering we were greeted by a young woman that was friendly and welcoming. Our server was awesome. Wasps were out and she brought a little container of honey with an orange slice to try and distract them. The food was fantastic. Have to say I think it was the best burger I have ever had. Thank you for such wonderful service.

My daughter went this morning to the bar and ordered a lychee martini. After tasting a sip / she noticed that it didn’t taste much like lychee and asked the server politely if there was anything she could do. The server asked the manager and they proposed that she could get another drink or they could simply add a shot of lychee liqueur to possibly help the taste. My daughter agreed to take a chance that the added shot will help reduce the tangy flavour of the original martini. After trying it with the added shot - she concluded it just wasn’t up to snuff but no biggie. What can you do? However when the bill came the server actually CHARGED her for the shot she recommended? No warning. Nothing. Needless to say - that required an appropriate response - no tip. Good. I hate restos with zero customer appreciation. Rude & uncalled for imo
