I didn’t have high hopes to begin with, since I’ve heard so many horrible things about the Imperial Diner in LaSalle — and sadly, every single bad review is true. This place has gone completely downhill from what it used to be. Save your money and go elsewhere. The overall experience from start to finish was downright horrible.
The service was awful. Instead of helping or showing basic courtesy, they spoke with attitude and made me feel like I was a burden just for asking about my order because it was taking a long time. No customer should ever be treated that way.
When the food finally came out, it was cold. I ordered soup as well, and it was ice cold and tasted absolutely horrible. The broasted chicken I ordered wasn’t just cold — it even had a lot of blood in it. I had to point it out to management several times, and instead of taking responsibility, they argued with me and tried to get away without fixing the problem. They were super rude, unfriendly, and combative instead of apologizing or fixing the issue. I had to insist just to get a discount, when normally this would be automatically corrected without question.
To make matters worse, they even charged extra for several condiments that should’ve been included. That’s cheap, unprofessional, and shows they don’t care at all about their customers.
All around, this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. Cold and disgusting food, undercooked chicken, terrible soup, and management with a horrible attitude. I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who expects even the most basic level of courtesy. Do yourself a favor — don’t waste your money here.

My wife Rose and I had a great meal at the Imperial Diner last night. I had a Smokehouse Burger, tasted great, and Rose had a 4 piece dark meat Chicken Dinner special that she loved. Also, the staff and service were wonderful.
