First, the good: crew members on the boats, some of whom I've seen a couple times a year for over a decade (but even those who are newer), are absolutely top-notch. Friendly, personable, helpful. They put a smile on your face.

Now, unfortunately, the not-so-good: inflexible booking policies instituted on account of COVID but remaining today, astonishingly rude and unaccommodating customer service over the phone, multiple staff have given no response to emails even when I was specifically directed by people on the phone to send those emails about payment processing issues (theirs, not mine). Zero callback (even when it was promised) from management when trying to escalate the customer service failures to people who can address them - which tells me the problem goes higher than just the people giving the bad service.

There are a couple of kind and respectful people who work the phones, but there is at least one and maybe more staff member who takes every possible opportunity to say everything short of outright calling you a complete idiot who doesn't deserve to be graced by their services. If you talk to this individual, you'll know what I mean rather quickly.

Further compounding the customer service problem is the website, the issues with which can result in you needing to call and roll the dice on who answers the phone. OSTC clearly understood what features their website needed to have when they were replacing their old one, but whoever they contracted to make this UX mess had absolutely no business being awarded the job. It's a serious fight to get your reservation put in - though I will say some of its early issues have been cleaned up so an effort is clearly being made.

I'll briefly touch on food, because it used to be available (specifically, hot "real food", not just bagels, on Jiimaan): my understanding is that the ferry service dropped the hot food to help drive customers to island businesses. This is a good thing, and I completely forgive this otherwise apparently severe omission on that basis.

I love Pelee Island. I love the boat ride across the lake. I love the crew on the boats who make it a safe and pleasant experience. I promise you, the reader of this review, that I am not actually a difficult customer. There is a serious problem with customer service at this organization and management has zero interest in addressing it. No surprise from a provincial government agency, unfortunately.

Well organized, on schedule, comfortable interiors, adequate eating options inside for the 1.5 hours one way journey.
To transport car, book really ahead if travelling on weekends or holidays.

My experience on tha pelee island transportation was great there is indoor Sitting and you can go up to the deck. You can also get food on the boat and there is a dog pen with water for the dogs.

What a great trip to Pelee island on the Pelee Islander 2.We booked online two weeks ahead of time to make sure we had a space for our vehicle to and from the island. We left the Leamington harbour and the trip took 90 minutes. You can bring your own bicycles, or you can rent them on the island.

I had a great visit.Arrived on a weekday early May and the weather was less than fantastic for outdoors but that helped with low crowds and a more intimate visit. The parking was free and lots of room for large RV’s and Busses.Gift shop and visitor center was busy. There are classrooms and snacks. Souvenirs were really well priced on quality clothing. The gift shop is a bit small and difficult to get around in with only a few people in there.Trolly to the tip is great. There is an observation tower at the top but was not open during my visit. It’s a beautiful place to visit.I highly recommend visiting

The website is a complete disgrace. Car dimensions need to be converted to ft even though Canada uses the metric system? No European can handle these stupid units. Until I had painstakingly converted everything, I couldn't book anything the night before. Thanks to this incompetent company, we're not going to the island now. Thanks for nothing!

Had a wonderful experience travelleing in the pellee ialand ferry. All thanks to Jessica who was a mascot of the Journey. A perfect multitasker who makes the most of your trip right from greeting us at the entrance to helping us to our seats and even making my mom a tea.
