Jane and her team catered and bartended the wedding I coordinated yesterday. From our first interaction, Jane was responsive, easy going, and helpful. On-site, her team went above and beyond to ensure that the day was perfect for the couple. They were efficient, thoughtful, and demonstrated kindness and caring in their actions (even when guests needed to be cut off at the bar!). The food was top-notch (KILLER kale Caesar salad!!). Working with the Donnelly Cafe was a pleasure, and made my job as coordinator so much easier. I hope I have the opportunity to work together again soon!

Wedding Catering - Top Notch
Jane, Nick, Dayne, along with the rest of the crew (Talise, Lily and Sabrina) were absolutely amazing as our caterers for our July 2024 wedding! They went above and beyond to make our vision for what to serve come to life and our guests were raving about it!
We got married in July 2024 and worked with Donnelly's Cafe for some custom catering. They didn't hand us a list of items and demand we choose from only that select list like any other venue or catering service we looked into. Right from the initial meeting to chat about what we were looking for, they were eager to take the time to ask questions, offer suggestions, take our inspo pics for what we had in mind and meet the dietary needs of all our guests (ie gluten free - including the bride, vegan, vegetarian, nut free). We were so thrilled with their willingness to co-create an amazing menu that all our guests thoroughly enjoyed. Although they are the ones with the experience and expertise, they were so willing to hear us out and create some new items just for us!
Since we were having an evening wedding, we decided on serving large appetizers boards with the traditional charcuterie style for cocktail hour, but in addition throughout the evening on large harvest tables, a spread of several unique, specialty bite sized, finger foods that are not on their regular menus (ie. wonton cups with flavoured filling and sprigs of rosemary and tomato, bite size bruschetta, a variety of marinated chicken and beef skewers, bacon wrapped stuffed jalapeño bites, unique flavoured pinwheels, spring rolls, variety of breads with different dips, among all the other items that were included). We really wanted the 'appetizer' charcuterie boards to be refilled and fully stocked throughout the night no matter what time guests were coming to the table. The items were to be finger food/bite size but really hearty and filling so guests could sample many things and feel completely satisfied (not left wanting or looking for more). Donnelly's nailed it with going beyond our expectations and even made sure the serving staff circulated with a board to make sure people were eating and enjoying!
We wanted to support local and we are so glad that we did because this crew became friends throughout the process. Jane and the crew were on board with what we had in mind and how to make it work with superior pricing to boot. They went above and beyond for us that we added in some other wedding weekend catering as well and everyone was impressed with the high end quality, the flavours and quantity.
Hands down I would recommend them for catering and will use them again in a heartbeat. But not only that, their menu in the cafe is amazing too! It is our go to spot for brunch (mimosas are so tasty and the eggs benny), take out (the unique specialty pizza and their buttermilk chicken and the fries are really good) or to dine in because the convo with the staff is just the best. I am so grateful that most items can be made gluten free too to accommodate some variety when gluten free folks only really have so many choices!
Everyone feels like family and leaves with a smile from this place! As I write this, my new husband is there enjoying lunch with a buddy as their regular local meet up spot.

May 12 2024: Returned to take the wife out for Mothers Day breakfast (her choice of what she wanted, and where). Again, the food was ok, reasonably priced, and the portions were VERY large......I had a couple of minor critiques (mostly related to this being a restaurant, and not my own kitchen) but no complaints. We will definitely be returning again.
Went for dinner last night with the wife...... The ambience was good (I like a place that feels 'casual'), and there was a nice choice of beers (appropriate for a taphouse) Our waitress was VERY friendly and helpful. Food was ok (Philly Cheesesteak), but nothing fantastic. Typical of 'pub grub' in my opinion. My biggest complaint is that they are not an accessible site - I realize that to correct this will take a LOT of $$$, and hopfully they have it in their plans for the future. All in all, it was a pleasant experience - I would definitely go back.
FOLLOWUP - a nice response from the owner regarding my concerns. i do understand that making the place more accessible is not an easy fix. nice to see that they acknowledge the issue, and are working on how to correct it. a couple MORE stars for prompt and courteous customer response :-)

Went for breakfast on Saturday and Sunday also had dinner on Saturday I had the traditional breakfast both days and I had the chicken parm and fries for dinner fries and potatoes were perfect as well as the chicken parm the eggs I wanted over easy were a little over cooked but still tasty I would rate the overall experience 8.5 /10 would go back for sure

The atmosphere is amazing. The staff and patrons made the experience one of the best pop in lunches we’ve had in a while. The food was amazing and delicious. We’d highly recommend stopping in for their unique beers, pizzas and wings!!!
