Bass Lake RoadHouse

New patio is a game changer for Bass Lake Road House. We've been going there for almost 40 years. Nothing has changed in that time. Same OLD . The new patio on the side is a very welcome addition. Beautiful stone pavers and all new patio furniture and umbrellas. Has some nice shade also.
If they could upgrade the food, it would be 5 star. Some offerings are OK. some not so good. The wing and rib combo are a good option. Some of the sandwich options taste like they're pre-made. Processed.
Definitely love the new patio. Also the paved driveway. No more dust in the convertible.

Nice place. 1st time here. Drive by often on a rip & thought I'd try it out. Nice atmosphere, good food. Beer wasn't the coldest, but it was fine.
A/C needs some improvement, as I was melting in their restaurant.
Probably due to the doors being wide open on a 40f day.
At any rate, overall good. I will return.

I really want to love this place because it’s close to our home and the only place around us but the last 3/4 times we’ve gone it hasn’t been the greatest service.

You’re never acknowledged when you enter unless you’re a regular. The first time we went we stood there awkwardly until a waitress passing by said we could sit anywhere.
Once you’re sat usually the wait times to be given menus/drink orders have been around 10-15 minutes.
The last time was kind of the last straw for me as I was in the middle of ordering when a group the waitress knew came in and she literally turned around, away from me mid order and started talking to the group and took their drink orders. Then she turned back to us, took our menus and walked away. Of course my order was incorrect when it arrived.
The food has been good though.
From start to finish you’re usually looking at a 2 1/2 hour dining experience though as it is slow service, and this is when they’re not even busy.

Place is awesome. They have curly fries with the perfect crunch

Always a great experience here from the food to the service!! Place is always very clean and is close to the water.

Edit** Not sure how but this place has gotten even better but it has!! Few new menu items and upgrades to the decor, including a paved parking lot and beautiful looking patio. Servers were awesome as usual. If Google had six stars I'd give it. Love these real restaurants rather than the big franchises. They really show you what good food and service is about!!!

I have been reading others review as well and been thinking that how impatient some of us can be.
me and my guy visited yesterday and we were very happy when we left , service can be improvised a bit but nothing that needs to be complained about.
We had the cauliflower soup and artichoke dip. all perfect , soup was soooo good please let your cheff know .

We've been going there for a few years now and we always have enjoyed the atmosphere and food. We went there last week, Nov.5th and each one of our meals had something wrong. My burger bun was stale and the salad was limp. My friend ordered the poutine and the cheese curds were still frozen. I asked the waitress if there was a new cook and yes there was. She told the cook what was wrong with the food and the cook said "too bad, I'm not taking any money off their order" We never asked for any money to be taken off, just to advise that the meals were terribly made. She never came out to talk to us or apologize. So whoever the owners are, sounds like your new cook is going through some kind of issue, as I'm reading other comments. We won't be back.

Worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. Wasn’t busy and we waited 20 minutes for a menu. Waited 40 more minutes after we ordered and we weren’t even acknowledged. Never did get our food so we left. A non-Canadian family came in 20 minutes after us and were served because they complained. I will never come to this place again. What a disappointment.

Been here a couple of times; my hubby really likes the beef dip. Stopped in last week and seems the recipe has changed and just wasn't as great as he remembered, but still good. Overall good spot for a quick bite to eat and to have a drink. Usually pretty busy place when we have been there.

The waitress needs to fix her attitude and her face. Her appearance is so dirty for a person that is serving your food. A group of us walked into the restaurant, and she was not pleasant at all. She cleared a table and sent us to the table as she was walking with the dirty dishes.The table needed a wipe down, and I asked her, halfway thru my sentence, she cut me off and responded that she will be right with us in such a rude manner. We just left the restaurant. Zero stars if that was an option.

Update to the owner's response:
It's a shame that you have to respond to my review in such manner. My group wasn't pushy at all. We entered your establishment without being greeted and we're seated at a dirty table. With the attitude being given to us, we decided to leave. We did not spend more than 10 minutes at the restaurant.
