Excellent service and best sandwich I have had in long time! The tomato basil soup was superb! The selection of baked goods was mouthwatering. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this eatery and I wouldn’t hesitate to return.
Great little place to stop for Breakfast, lunch or dinner. Great friendly staff. Down side is all there fried home fries were burnt and taste like chicken. When asked for a replacement we got charged for it. Always ask for your receipt.
The food is awesome to eat from breakfast, lunch, snacks and supper as well
Looks like another covid fatality Hopefully this business can build back up Very empty shelves not much out compared to the photos online
terrible service. unorganized, not well thought out.
Friendly service, clean establishment, great selection of delicious ice cream amd shakes. We visited twice while staying during our week-long stay in the Madoc area. You've got to try this place!
Food good but a little pricey
Good ice cream
Apparently July, COVID 19 and restrictions don’t work well here. Lifetime customers and this was the worst meal ever. The Wedge fries placed upside down in the bottom of the bag and a box of fried chicken, grease and all placed on top. The grease removed the bottom of the box and the chicken and wedge fries ended up a sloppy mess in the greasy bag. Fortunately they are not the only takeout around Overpriced for a greasy sad mess. Won’t be back
Had the opportunity to stop at this little gem when driving from Ottawa to Toronto. We needed to gas up and ended up in Madoc. We googled ice cream and this didn't even come up! Luckily the McDonalds down the road did but the line was out the door and it was a blistering hot day, so a local told us about Tom's. We came by and even this place had a line, but it moved pretty fast. They use locally grown Kawartha ice cream and have several different flavors of cones (or can offer cups). There are also smoothies, frozen yogurt and other desserts available, and year round (went in August 2019 so summer) they sell Christmas themed items as the name suggests. The ice cream was great as was the service!

On Jan. 23rd 2020 my wife and I visited Burnside's for the first time. We had heard some great reviews from others. We went for a late lunch, and there were numerous people there when we arrived. A pleasant young man was our server and he was very helpful. My wife ordered the 2 piece chicken with potato wedges, and I ordered the deluxe burger with onion rings. We both had coffee. The food was ample in quantity, and extremely tasty. We would definitely recommend this diner. 2 thumbs up. ;-)
Large wedge fries and onion rings for $33 OMG what a rip off.

Just got the best Christmas tree ever. Put it up no fussing with trying to get it straight. Now all it need is some bling.
We were driving from Toronto to Ottawa with with two kids and making stops every few hours (Madoc is two hours outside of Ottawa). We hit the ice cream place next door on the way to Ottawa. On the way back we stopped for lunch. Great fried chicken and club house sandwich. Great price.
