Quality, check! Service, double check! Portions, TRIPLE CHECK! Turcotte's is an amazing local gem run by the best people. We always love coming here and sitting to eat. Tam and Dan have created a very cool atmosphere and turned this local classic into way more than just a chip stand - it's an experience. Oh, and did I mention the portions are extremely generous!? Seriously, I can never eat more than a small poutine. With their ice cream shop right around the corner, Cones and Cakes, you must leave room for dessert!

If this place was open year round we’d be in trouble! The food is fantastic and it’s a family business that has been around 70+ years. The space they have now is bright and cheery yet relaxed. Their fries and poutine are great but I’ve also had their chicken burgers (spicy and regular), pogos, onion rings and more. When you’ve enjoyed the food there, stop in at Cones and Cakes for dessert and a beverage.

Hands down the best poutine I’ve ever had! I’ve also tried just the fries on their own and they’re absolutely delicious. The chicken fingers are great too, crispy and tasty. The staff are super friendly, and the eating area is always clean and tidy. It’s also very family-friendly with a designated space for kids to eat and play. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal and a welcoming atmosphere!

Great spot fries are top tier service is even better, but my 3 star rating is because of the price gouging on the chicken tenders, $8 for 4 twig sized chicken strips, my pinky finger is bigger than anyone of the strips i was served. Like i said tho fries are top tier so if rhats what ur craving and ur in mattawa thats the spot you want. Just dont order the chicken tenders. Unless ur rich and not very hungry.
