I have visited 2 times. First visit was for drinks only shortly after opening, 2nd was for takeout a few months later.

THE GOOD: Service 5/5
Service was good, staff was friendly and food and drinks were all served promptly. When we called about a problem with the food (missing items) the owner personally delivered them to our house. He didn't have to do that, but it was very much appreciated.

THE BAD: Food 2/5
Unfortunately the food was pretty bad. The burgers were severely overcooked, totally lacking in fat or condiments and just dry, dry, dry. Not sure if they were microwaved or put under a heat lamp but it was not good.

Chicken wrap was OK but there was only about 4 little pieces of what appeared to be popcorn chicken in the wrap which was disappointing because like the burgers, this was $20 so my expectations were much higher.

It's easier to improve quality than it is to drop prices but one or the other has to happen.

THE UGLY: Atmosphere 2.5/5
While I appreciate that the new owners have seriously cleaned and renovated what was otherwise a pretty run-down and dingy spot, I honestly can't understand what they were going for with this design. The black ceiling, white walls and scattershot lighting make the place feel both blindingly bright and dark and shadowy at the same time.

Everything is clean but there is really no soul which is such a shame because it's a very old historic building so classic pub vibes (brass taps, dark wood, etc) should have been obvious. It's nice they fixed the fireplace but it is just another example of a missed opportunity for some really great style as it sits blazing blankly from a white wall in the least social area of the building.


I'm a local and I'm really rooting for this place so I'm trying not to be harsh but it's a tough market out there and you can't afford to come up short. My suggestion would be to look to your main competition in the surrounding towns. There are several similar establishments that really nail the vibe and the food.

I know this is a new place with new owners still finding their footing so I will definitely give it another shot soon. I look forward to upgrading my review.

Parking: parking lot beside the building has ample room but can fill up on busy nights. Street parking is plentiful.

This place is the best! I especially love coming in for meatloaf Mondays. Staff is extremely professional and a joy to talk to. Keep on rocking guys you’re doing awesome!!

We visit quite often. Saturday's are the absolute best for karaoke! Their host is a lot of fun! Staff is super friendly. The food is fantastic, try the potato skins. We will definitely be returning customers for life. Thanks guys for the good times!

First time in since you renovated - ABSOLUTELY LOVE what you have done with the place!!! The staff acknowledged me as soon as I walked in brought menu’s right away!! LOVE your WINGS BEST WINGS IN TOWN!!! I will definitely be back !!!

Fun place and delicious bites! The owners are great too. Saturday karaoke is a blast!! :)

Place is a dive. Hardly anyone in there and the ones that were, were drinking at the bar. Only 2 other tables were trying to get food. Took 10 min to get water and menu. Took another 10 min to place our order. Walked out after being there for an hour and no food. Certainly there is nothing even remotely close to 10 min ticket times here. Despite the "new management and renovations", this place sucks!
If you're hungry and don't have an hour and a half to waste for unknown food quality, go up the road to the Columbian Club.
And to pay the prices they are asking, for crappy service like that? This place needs to go on Bar Rescue and Kitchen Nightmares at the same time if they even hope to stand a chance in this industry. Not impressed whatsoever.
And if this is the updated and exciting new look...... I'd hate to see what it looked like prior!
It was really nice to sit next to holes in a wall with wire conduits coming through, and hidden behind a black curtain. Cold air billowing in was uncomfortable. This was our first...... and last time going there. Much better options elsewhere.
**Note** I've read the owners response and am sympathetic to their growing pains however, I'm not going to pay premium prices for food and service that are still in their "experimental" stages. Clearly, customers are not always the highest priorities since despite the unreasonable wait, our server didn't stop by our table and communicate any issues that the kitchen may have been experiencing, causing the huge delay. And when we just got up and left, our server didn't even look at us as we were walking out the door! I actually went back towards her and told her that we were leaving because we didn't have any more time to wait. A Saturday night, hardly anyone there and very long waits for us, for simple burgers. This should not be the case.
First impressions are key and this one was a dismal failure. I appreciate the offer to invite us back but I don't believe we will take that offer. We saw what we saw, and I think your problem is bigger than it appears. I'm not going to pay premium prices to participate in that experiment. Thanks all the same. You have some work to do.

Just came home from having dinner here after we found out the Columbia Club was closed tonight. We are glad things turned out as they did. Staff pleasantly greated us right away upon entering and made us feel welcomed. Our order was placed promptly and the wings and burger were fantastic! Beer and service were great also and the ambiance was nice. My only complaint was that the music was a little loud for dinner at 6 pm and sound quality needed improvement. We will be back, congratulations on this wonderful establishment.
