It was only today that I took my girlfriend to this fine bistro but we had planned on going, on my suggestion, to this bistro last weekend. The bistro, however, it was closed. Lovely little brunch spot in Meaford! Classic diner breakfast with lots of other items on the menu to choose from. The service was super friendly and accommodating however they do not take debit/credit, so I would come ready with cash on hand.

We had a well prepared and good tasting brunch here, at a table on the sidewalk under a nice shady tree. Apparently they make their own jams and marmalade. Small town hospitality and friendliness.

I had a scrumptious sidewalk (sitting at a table!) breakfast after a 90 minute bike ride. Service was at an appropriate speed and the food was fantastic which provided the needed energy for the 90 minute bike ride home. I am glad I remembered my cash.

We ordered breakfast for our daughters yesterday morning when we were in town. We ordered the original breakfast (used to be $8 and is now $12.) one with rye toast and one with gf toast. our total was $32 for a very sad and disappointing breakfast.
The eggs were overcooked and covered in so much parsley they looked green, toast was dripping with margarine (they obviously don't know what real butter is 😔) the bacon is you can even call it that was simply a pile of greasey overcooked yuck! We said we didn't need the homefries and I'm happy we didn't have to subject our kids to whatever mess that might have been too.
We were charged $16 for the original breakfast that had the gf toast, apparently charging $4 for two slices of gf toast is acceptable in this establishment. Oh and the fruit they claim they ALWAYS add to their breakfast was ½ an orange slice.
When I called to question why in the world gf toast was an EXTRA $4 I was laughed at by the owner herself that the average upcharge of .50-1.00 we normally pay at other restaurants was her "giving it away for free because gf bread is $8 a loaf" then told that she needs to pay her hydro for using her toaster, pay her rent, her staff, etc. All of which I am well aware of being a small business owner ourselves, however her prices, lack of quality food and disgusting behavior towards customers who regularly frequent her bistro every summer for over 10 years now is extremely disappointing. We will not be returning and are urging everyone who values their hard earned money to give it to a business who actually values their customers and the food they send out of their kitchen.
Do yourself a favor and don't step foot inside Eggcitment, there are far better restaurants in Meaford.

I’m new to Meaford, and was looking forward to trying this cute breakfast place downtown.It was the worst breakfast I have ever experienced at a restaurant.The tomatoes were hard, potatoes hard, no flavour in the hollandaise sauce, so much water from the poached eggs there was water running onto the plate and causing soggy bread.With the culinary options in this region this place was grossly underwhelming.
